Also, if you haven't watched Full Metal Alchemist, its probably my favorite anime series and I recommend it.

This is a ridiculous request due to the sheer number of titles available, the number of quality titles there within, and because of Sturgeon's Law compounded by people's opinions.

Same with asking for a good book to read or a good movie to watch. Too broad a spectrum.

My favorite is the Ghost in the Shell series, Trigun, Paranoia Agent, FLCL, Cowboy Bebop, and Outlaw Star.

I liked the Dragonball series and DBZ up to around the Cell Saga. Then it just went down hill for me. I cannot stand Inuyasha and Gundam Wing. I know others agree with my disdain for Inuyasha (as VGcats said it best, its DBZ for girls :P) but most anime fans think I am "crazy" for not liking Gundam Wing. To me Gundam Wing just felt like a soap opera with giant robots.

I haven't really watched many good Anime's lately, but Excel Saga was entertaining.. Really stupid, but entertaining. Elfen Lied is alright too.
