So my girlfriends computer is completely rigged with viruses because the owner apparently has a lot of pr0n. I was just wondering are the Norton Antivirus programs any good? and if they aren't any suggestions?

It does the job but hogs up the system resources. I recommend Panda or a free one such as AVG.Thorpe89

Don't you have to pay for AVG?

Avoid the free programs. They have detection rates of about 80%, which is almost useless when it comes to protection. If you want good security, you're going to have to pay.

Anyway, I'd recommend Kaspersky or NOD32.

I don't understand why anyone would want to use Norton.

If you don't want to pay for one i'd recommend Avast, it scores higher detection rates than Norton and Mcafee. It also doesn't kill the performance of your PC like Norton or Mcafee. If you don't mind paying then get NOD32 or Kaspersky, which are the market leaders.

No. Download some better, free antivirus program instead like Avast. I'd recommend NOD32 as it isn't too resource heavy but you'll have to pay for it - or get it *hint* some other way *hint*.

Use AVG. It's free and doesn't suck, unlike Norton or McAfee.
