I am white as can be, conservative as all he11, middleclass. I did not grow up in the hood. Nor am I wanna be white rap fan. I do not by any means pretend to be G. However, I grew up during the time that Dre. was just coming into his own. Snoop, Tupac, Eminem? I remember when they were all new and fresh. I was listening to a Dre. song the other day. Brings back memories. Anybody else fans?
Same scenario, I'm white, upper-middle class, living in seattle suburbs. I like a lot of Dr. Dre, NWA, Ice Cube, Public Enemy, Rn-DMC, that kind of stuff. I like rap other than old school, but I don't wear baggy-ass clothes or use street lingo. To be honest, Deep Cover has to be my favorite Dre song, followed by California Love. The thing I hate most is when people hate rap just because they don't fit with its image or because they like other music. I love rock, and I play the guitar, but that doesn't condemn me to one genre of music, does it?
