Tell me about it. He never did answer my question... Anyway, throw some names out there, pretty sure they're not that unknown.Well, I live in Brisbane, Queensland. Powderfinger (band). Extremely popular in Australia but they never really made it happen overseas for whatever reason. The Veronicas. I'm not sure how popular overseas they are, but they are big here (relatively new) and have been touring I believe. There are a few others doing well in Australia that are less likely to be known around the place though, so I'll move on.
Sophie Monk was a singer now she is more into acting. You might know her from "Date Movie" and "Click". Geoffrey Rush wasn't born in my city, he was born further up north but you would have surely heard of him if not the others. He was the first Australian-born person to win an Academy Award for acting. Jonathan Hyde was born in Brisbane and was in movies such as Jumanji and Titanic.
Of course we have a lot of sport stars as well but we don't follow the American games like NFL and baseball, we play the UK games and our own, so you wouldn't know most of those guys and gals. That's plenty though, right?
