The Simpson’s Movie
What more can be said about the longest running animated series of all time that hasn’t been uttered a million times over, perhaps the fact that no other programme has ever had a more extensive run on primetime television and is astonishingly still going strong after 18 years. It’s kind of hard to believe that a movie wasn’t made sooner, especially with the abundance of animated films that have been popping up over the past decade or so. Here’s hoping it’s a case of better late than never as oppose to desperate measures to keep an ageing series in the limelight. Homer is sure doing his part by keeping to a tight exercise regime, as he is clearly demonstarting in the accompanying picture.
I Am Legend
This is the one film I know least about but the synopsis certainly tantalizes my taste buds. Robert Neville (Will Smith) is the last human survivor of a manmade virus and mysteriously the only one immune to its effects, but he is not alone. He is surrounded by the “infected” who are carnivorous beings that only exist in dark, dank places. Neville desperately tries to contact any other survivors but the “infected” are lurking in the shadows, watching his every move, waiting for him to make a fatal error. His last hope is to find a way to reverse the effects of the virus using his own immune blood, but unfortunately for him his blood is what they hunt.
Spider-Man 3
Everyone’s friendly neighborhood spidey is back and faces his toughest challenge yet, not only will he have to stand up the might of both Sandman and Venom but also his former friend Harry Osborn who takes the form of the New Goblin. If that wasn’t enough a substance from outer space also threatens to take over his mind and he finds himself caught up in a battle against himself. Spider-Man is now a blockbuster in every sense of the word and even without a story as enticing as this one it has become so huge in popularity that it would still be a guaranteed success, as long as they don’t do something extremely outlandish then it will top the box office time and time again.
Transformers
What happens when you put both Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg together? Apparently you get the upcoming Transformers film and what a prospect it is with two true legends of the industry working together. The story starts with Captain Witwicky falling through a sheet of ice and stumbling upon Megatron who yields a map to the mysterious Allspark, naturally he becomes protected by the Autobots and it’s just as well with the Decepticons ready to start a war to get their hands on it. Don’t worry if any of that sounds complicated though because it seems the film is going to be aimed at an uneducated audience and walk you hand-in-hand through the back story.Resident Evil: Extinction
Extinction is the third release in a series of film adaptations of the survival-horror gaming franchise Resident Evil and sees a band of survivors heading to Alaska for salvation; but before they reach their destination their leader Alice has some unfinished business. Armed with all new telekinetic powers she will stop at nothing to seek revenge and this time she has a group of no-nonsense recruits at her side; each holding secrets of their own. In relation to video games there are set to be a whole host of creatures appearing from Code Veronica and even a cameo from the ‘crows’ which featured in the original PlayStation title, so plenty to feast upon on that front.Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World’s End
Just one year after the second film comes the third and final part of the Disney trilogy, the short space between both was partly down to large portions being shot during the filming of Dead Mans Chest. The only snag being they hadn’t actually finished the script and that left the actors feeling somewhat blinded by what they were supposed to be doing. At World’s End plays out as a rescue mission to save captain Jack Sparrow who is in the clutches of Davey Jones and well on his way to a watery grave. Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann must team up with the most unlikely of characters in Captain Barbossa to save the day and is certain to make for an entertaining turn of events.
Oceans 13
Oceans 11 was one of those rare remakes that many believed lived up to the original, it was sleek, sexy and chock full of Hollywood stars. Then Oceans 12 came along and the same was expected, there was no way a film could bomb with so many big names on board right? Wrong. Oceans 12 was a total disaster in so many ways, not only was it slow-paced but the story way too complex and the acting was more than a little questionable. Now with the pending release of Oceans 13 Soderbergh and his gang of A-lists will be looking to get the series back on track and with a more convincing script already in motion it’s hard to see how lightning can strike twice.Saw IV
Love them or hate them you cannot deny the success these films have brought in such a short space of time, Jigsaw is fast becoming one of the most recognizable figures throughout the genre and his dastardly deeds even have die-hard horror fans cringing into their popcorn. It seems as though they're attempting to up the crude factor with each release. Little however is known about the fourth installment but whatever he has in store for his next bunch of unsuspecting victims one thing is for sure; it will be just as sick and as dark as ever before.
TMNT
This will be the fourth Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film and the first to be created using CGI. This latest adventure starts off a little differently with Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael all doing their own thing, it’s only when Splinter senses something is awry that they join forces for the greater good. It turns out Karai and the Foot Clan are at it again and the turtles must call upon some old allies in order to prevent New York City from almost certain doom. Apparently a game is also scheduled for release ten days before the movie so gamers should look out for that.
Live Free or Die Hard
The original Die Hard plucked Bruce Willis from a sea of mediocrity and shot him to international stardom, suddenly he was being compared to all the big stars and with just cause. Die Hard 2 made slightly less of an impact but went some way to making up for it in the pyrotechnics department. Then came Die Hard with a Vengeance which was a decent enough movie but didn’t seem to register with a lot of people, perhaps it was the timing but it certainly wasn’t a fitting way to end the franchise. So after a stupidly long wait Bruce Willis has finally decided to complete the quadrilogy with Live Free or Die Hard which sees John McClane coming out of retirement to tackle a gang of internet terrorists who are hell bent on crashing the stock market.
The Bourne Ultimatum
Jason Bourne is entering old age and has finally shaken off the demons of his past, or has he? Not if ‘The Jackal’ has anything to do about it, a retired agent who will stop at nothing to assassinate him and his family. Bourne faces his toughest test yet, fending off not only some of the fiercest enemies he has ever encountered but also the limitations imposed by his mind and body. Fans can expect the same high-octane thrills and spills of the previous two films plus the bang for your buck the final piece of a trilogy always throws at its audience, so whether it’s nerve-jangling espionage, intense car chases or a good ole’ gun sling to the death your bum will be planted firmly on the edge of your seat from start to finish.
28 Weeks Later
You would have been forgiven for thinking that the original ’28 Days Later’ was your typical zombie movie, however given the fact that the population were infected by a virus and remained thoroughly undead made it similar in principal but different in terms of the abilities the “infected” possessed. The sequel is set seven months after the evacuation of Britain and the army are already attempting to repopulate all major towns and cities in a bid to restore normality, predictably the virus breaks out once again and re-ignites chaos amongst the masses. While it is a shame that talented British director Danny Boyle has bowed out of the project here’s hoping they manage to recapture the raw power of the first film with fresh blood on board.300
Taken and adapted from the graphic novel of the same name the story tells of 300 Spartan warriors who fought against immeasurable odds and inspired a country to unite against the onslaught of the Persians. While films such as Troy and Alexander have gone before it what will make this one particularly unique is the comic book style it will be portrayed in, attempting to bring epic battles to life in a way we’ve never quite seen before. It’s hard to tell whether the movie-going public will take to a film of this severity, especially considering it’s openness to gore but judging by the support it’s received so far thing’s are looking quite rosy.
Rush Hour 3
Speculation surrounding Rush Hour 3 has been rife during the last year or so and accusations have been flying back and forth between both co-stars. Chan was apparently stealing the limelight from certain cast members whilst Tucker was rumored to be making too many demands for his own good, including a substantial pay rise and a say in the final cut. Differences aside there’s no doubting they make a great partnership on screen and the chemistry that worked so well in the past will undoubtedly resurface once again. It’s probably just as well because with Tucker’s quick wit and Chan’s quick fists a story set to start out as an investigation into the Chinese Triads is bound to escalate out of control.
Rob Zombie's Halloween
Critics slammed Halloween as low-budget garbage early on but soon came to realize that the camera work and the simplistic yet eerie music made for superbly suspenseful viewing. So many films have attempted to imitate that unique feeling John Carpenter brought to the fore on many occasions; unfortunately it’s resulted in some pretty awful attempts over the years. Michael Myers or “The Shape” has also had his fair share of sub-par copycats but that’s understandable being one of the most iconic figures in all of horror movie history. 29 years on and Rob Zombie has been given permission to take the original movie and revamp it, nothing concrete has been announced as of yet but reports indicate that a straight remake is on the cards, other sources hint at a prequel but audiences will have to wait until October 31st to find out the real answers.

Ghost Rider will suck how could you think anything other than that? It has Nick Cage in it enough said.hayabusa5644In other words, you have no idea what you are talking about. Nicholas Cage is an excellent actor who has made some great movies: Lord of War, Face Off to name a couple.
Sorry Fishdalf but more than half of those Hollywood Blockbusters will flop.
and Michael Bay isn't a legend of the industry. He made Pearl Harbour. End of.
