I am looking for an open source OS, to download onto my PC, becuase I just hate windows. But anything you guys would recommend.

Im allready alittle fammiler with ubuntu and solaris, but is there anything else thats better out there?

Ubuntu is the most useable, eLive is the best looking, but I'd take XP Pro or OSX over any of the Linux distros any day for actually getting work done. They're fun to mess with, but you have to mess around too much just to get it running properly to do any work IMO.

agreed, they have a ton of cool stuff to play with, and if you like computers it's alot of fun, but overall you still need windows.

they're okay. I'd recommend getting a vm of the said freeware os, just to see how it is.
