I drink green tea because I hear it has a lot of health benefits and I find it relaxing but I when I brew it I notice that...it's not green. It's a light brown almost yellow colour. Why is this? If I let it sit for a 5-6 minutes it will turn very brown. Is this perhaps some generic green tea that I should not be drinking?

Yeah man it's not supposed to be leprechaun green. That's the color of the plant they extract it from. I've been getting to like it recently, I hang out with some asian friends and they seem to be crazy about it.

I drink it. I love the stuff. I let it sit for about 5 minutes before I drink it as well.

Sometimes, it's pretty relaxing. I should probably drink more of it but I'd rather hot chocolate.

I drink white tea. I think it might be a little better than green tea, but I'm not really sure.

I drink it regularly. The tea is almost never green unless it's very fresh/new and expensive.

I had some once, it was a liptons iced green tea and it was fairly good, but I tried it hot and nearly threw up. I hate hot tea, not for me at all.

I've only drank the Snapple and Arizona Green Teas, but they are both pretty good. Personally though I prefer Chai Tea above all other teas.

I actually drink it as an alternative to my soda addiction.:) I boil the water for a few minutes and then stoop the tea. Followed by ice-ing it and adding a tablespoon or so of stevia. Yummy, yummy. :)

By the way, tea isn't supposed to be super green, it's supposed to be more of a yellowish green.

Same here! I'm currently addicted to Diet Coke, so whenever I want one, I have a green tea instead.

No tea for me, thanks. I stick with water mostly, but drink mountain dew or pepsi on occasion. Oh, and of course, beer.

The girlfriend drinks it; I'm really not a fan. I know stuff that looks and tastes like crap is said to be good for you, but green tea is only green because tea companies have figured they can make more money marketing a tea that hasn't been through the traditional slow dry and fermentation process. That unique flavour that makes all unflavoured green teas basically the same is raw chlorophyll. You could probably make something analogous by boiling up a handful of cooked grass.

Green tea is good, but it does weird things to some people. It's got some sort of compound, I don't remember what.

I can tolerate it, but I don't like it. Actually, I like the stuff that you can buy at Wal-Mart in a bottle. I don't like the stuff you brew at home though.

You could try adding more tea to get a more 'green'color or try lessening the water. Or, use a green cup if you really want it psych yourself into thinking that it's more green.:P

I like hot green tea to unwind in the evening and iced green tea ( like the Starbuck's ones ) as a cooler -snack thing. Matcha is my favorite type of green tea.I like how refined and sweet it tastes.

I don't like the taste of regular green tea, but there's a flavour of green tea that has honey and lemon in it, and that's the type of tea I most often drink.
