either way it dont mean sh!t.

the people who are smoking, arent going to stop smoking due to a commercial.

and young kids who start smoking arent going to listen to a dumb commercial.

its just wasted ad space, and serves no purpose as no one takes them seriously.

if your gonna smoke, your gonna smoke, a commercial is not going to change that.

False and naive... This same logic could be applied to all advertisements... though Id be all for banning all ads period... If you are a smoker then theres brand difference... Like I only smoke kool but seeing those hot women in the ad pushes me to ty Newport... Either way there is a market for cig ads...

brand difference is different than trying to deter people from smoking.

which was what my post was about.

though i think i misunderstood TCs post.

Im pretty sure drinking coke and pepsi is worse for you than alcohol. Smoking cigs is worse than smoking pot, everything is so backwards

If you smoke. Then I don't see how it would affect you, other than allowing you to be manipulated by brands, they are only there for the benefit of the company and to get new customers. Advertising it will do nothing but glorify it and create more smokers, putting more pressure on medical care and treatment for something that needs to be phased out anyway. I'm glad that smoking adverts are not allowed here, it's just a shame that the same can't be said for gambling adverts.

Not really. Smokers are fine with me as long as they stay the fvck away when they're doing it.

I can understand that, but smoking is a great way to bond. At least for me.

Succumbing to a harmful addiction that kills you with others who are doing the same thing is a great way to bond? That seems like a really bad way to bond to me. I think a better way to bond would be to get together and eat celery while watching an educational documentary.

It's not a very hard concept, dude. Nicotine makes you feel good and relaxed. Thus making you more sociable. It also doesn't fvck you up like alcohol or weed(not that I have anything against those either)

Well, yeah...with other smokers. :P

I'm talking about cigs though, since I'm a pretty big fan of Mary J.

Both are great and have their place.
