Well I'm thinking of applying at a local Pizza Hut near me for a position. Hows the pay? Atmosphere? what are your thoughts on the job? do they supply a car or do I gotta pay for my own gas for working?

A good friend of mine was a pizza delivery guy for years, and actually managed a pizza hut for a while. I don't know a lot of the details of the job, but it really depends on location. Pizza guys get robbed a lot in bad areas. They're easy targets. It can be a dangerous job.

Yeah I was reading a bit about it and it has some negative rep for a job.

I went out to get some of that new Domino's pizza today and after spending ~20 minutes in the car with it I still can't get the stench out of my nose

My Dad was a pizza delivery guy. He said it's a horrible and dangerous job.

I suggest you don't do it.

I'm not one but make sure you get a GPS. Also you have to provide your own car.

Depends on where you would deliver to and if you got to work weekends during the rush. Ive had friends that pulled down good money especially during football season but sometimes its just dead and he didnt make hardly anything. So it isnt the most stable income and if you drive your own car thats more wear and tear that you'll have to pay for. Better learn how to atleast change the oil because you'll be doing it often.

I was a delivery driver at Pizza Hut when i was younger... now I build Gas Turbine engines... some of you may have flown on a plane I helped overhaul lol.

Pay was pretty bunk but it is such a lazy job, and the Hut i worked at was more like the movie Waiting.

You drive around delivering Pizzas. It's not a difficult job description as much as just a bad job. If you live in a bigger city, you have to worry about the rough areas, some pizza places supply the car, some don't, the pay is bad, sometimes people don't tip. You could probably find a better job. I found pumping gas to be one of the better high school jobs, and I worked in a resturaunt, a delivery guy, retail, and a few other odd jobs. You're outside all day, you can talk to people, it's a mindless job, you just stick the nozzle in and wash the windows. I rarely got tipped though. :(

I'd recommend applying at smaller pizza joints than Pizza Hut. I used to deliver pizzas for the best pizza shop here in Boise. The pay was pretty solid, I made $6.25 an hour, plus $.75 per delivery, plus tips. It usually worked out that in total I'd make somewhere around $13-$22 an hour depending on the shift. A smaller shop will be better simply because the prices are higher, and the pizza is better which means you are likely to get tipped better, because your customers are the kind of people that like to pay for quality. It is a fun job if you work at a fun joint. I ran the bar in between deliveries and it was fun to hang out and educate customers on beers and whatnot. I don't think a chain would be satisfying, but pizza delivery can be a pretty rad job. You'll meet all sorts of weirdos.

I know that 18 is old enough to serve alcohol in my state. It might not be the same everywhere though.
