I'm probably going to get a tablet for my birthday soon and I plan on getting the Sony Tablet S. What tablet do you guys have and what do you use it for?
I'm going to use my tablet as a Kindle reader, games, and school work off of it.

I have an ipod touch which I consider to be my mini-tablet. I use it for reading, music, news, checking gas prices, a laptop mouse pad, flashlight, games, and the list goes on and on and on and oooooonnnnnn.
You really read on your iPod? I would read on mine often.[QUOTE="Serraph105"]

I've had my Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime for a couple months now and all I can say is I absolutely love it. I mostly use it for almost anything and everything and I don't play too many games on it at the moment. I did a lot, A LOT of research for a couple months and I narrowed it down to the Asus Transformer Prime and I am happy with it.

I read on my iPhone, which is about the same size. The font is easily readable. It's just a lot of pages.

Yeah I use iBooks for my iPhone and it's not that bad at all.Wait a bit, new models of 7 & 10 inch tablets, including the Google Nexus models are coming in a month or two.
You really read on your iPod? indeed I do. I still want a nook, but for now it's good.[QUOTE="Serraph105"]

By the way, does anybody still use the Motorolla Xoom? I remember hearing about it as the ipad alternative back when the ipad was still in it's first iteration. Any users here who still think it was worth it?
I have an actual tablet, the HP Touchsmart tm2t, and its probably the best thing out there at the moment for school work.
Slates, which is what nearly everyone is referring too, are pretty cool. But since they are largely for media consumption, their best use is for doing more passive things that would normally be done on an actual laptop.
[QUOTE="Serial-No_3404"]I have an iPad and Nook TabletSerraph105which do you use more? When I'm home I use my iPad more, but I take my Nook out with me when I want something on the go and I just use my phone as a 4G hotspot.
iPad for me it makes surfing the web easy, plus there are lots of good games, it can also be used for work from time to time as well.
iPad. Have been using it a lot lately. It seems like the fastest way to access web when you want to check something real quick, especially when PC is turned off.
I use mine for internet and skype mostly.

Motorola is a joke. The tablet was a victim of hype and was complete garbage. Slow, terrible UI, virtually nothing on the store that could fit the screen. What a disaster.
The tablet s is a pretty dated tablet. I'd look at the nexus tablet or one of the samsung ones if you want android. IMO, nothing beats the iPad as far as tablets go. The hardware, the applications, the ease of use, its definitely the best all-around tablet on the market, that I think is not even debatable. Maybe see if you can get a cheap ipad 2 online. I like the retina display, but the ipad two is thinner and has better battery life. I love my ipad 2. :)TonyDanzaFanI looked at the Nexus 7 and it looks great, I'll look into that more. Hopefully a store has them around where I can play with it and see how I feel about it.
