I dont know what is considered a young driver--I guess my brother is, because he just started driving lessons and will likely get his license in a few months. I've been driving for around 2 1/2 years. I drive a 2005 Nissan Altima and a 2006 Audi A6.

So do you live in America now or do you still live in the UK? Buy an American car instead of some Toyota or Hyundai.

Im 17 and I drive a 1997 Volvo 850T. When you're young, you really want to go more for reliability than looks/performance. This is because us YOUNGINs aren't made of money and we need something that wont be breaking and needing expensive repairs all the time. My car has 197000 miles on it btw and it still runs great.

Older Volvo parts are rather expensive...

As for suggestions...Im not sure if all the cars available in the US are available in the UK, but Subaru's and Toyota's are very reliable cars that will last you a long time.

Well luckily for me my car doesn't need replacement parts, and i don't think it will for a long time. I think ill get another 100k miles out of it before it dies on me.

Hondas are always good buys. Really reliable and easy to maintain.

I personally drive a 1988 Porsche 911 though... It's blast to drive, but atm it needs alot of parts replaced and guzzles gas so it's kind of a money pit.

But a really fun money pit. :)

personally, i drive a 2005 bmw 330 ci. it's a beautiful car and i love it. not the most practical car and not the best mileage at 22 mpg, but i love it all the same. it really depends on your budget and what kind of image you want in your car before we can give you a serious suggestion.

1996 Honda Civic. It's great. Two door, which I love because I love driving small cars. It's like a friggin' go kart. I'm 17.
