I have no interest in it, it just looks like a fast blockbuster to me.

It's looks stupid and will be stupid, but I can't deny the awesome of the special effects. It really is destruction on a higher scale than anything we've really seen in a movie yet...but in the end it won't be more than a disaster movie, directed by one of the worst directors in Hollywood who only directs...disaster movies.

It's a shame too, cause I like John Cusack and Amanda Peet. I read the script a while back...it's just awful. But in the end, I'll probably end up seeing it for the simple spectacle. Sigh.

No I'm not, it looks pretty action packed but I fear that is all it will have. Generic movie action/world destruction scenes with no creativity at all at least the movie Cloverfield actually gave a good effort to be interesting while still being full of action. I also think this movie was just made to make money off of the massive surrounding the year 2012 and since I'm not part of that BS then this movies appeal to me suddenly was dragged down to nothing at all.

No way in hell. Either one of the main elements of this movie, whether it be the Michael Bay inspired action, or 2012 BS, would be enough within themselves to turn me off, and this movie has BOTH.

I saw the trailer recently when I went to see Zombieland and even that was painful to watch. For like half the trailer they're flying in a plane because this massive earthquake is causing the whole of L.A. to sink into the Earth yet for some reason the ground is both falling and rising at the same time. It made me wonder if the producer even bothered to think about the scenes he was making.

Except this doesn't have the hilariousness of Nicolas Cage as a scientist trying to stop disasters, so it won't even be funny.

I'm going to see it. It looks like a very entertaining movie. I'm not going to see it in theaters though because I barely ever go (2-3 times a year).
