I certainly do. It's obviously a day to make those of us that are single feel like crap, and to rake in cash, thus showing how consumeristic our society is.
I might not know anyone who loves me, but on Valentines Day I see kissing couples professing their love for each other. And that at least reassures me tat true love really does exist.
Single people need Valentines Day more than anyone else. It's mostly the single lonely people who need to be reminded that love is real, and that just maybe they'll one day find true love if they can hold on just a little bit longer and not kill themselves.

Back on topic: I'm indifferent about it, I dont think I need a day to profess my love for the special person I love, I do that everyday, and having to try and do something special seems like a task on that day.

I've never abbreviated Valentines Day before, don't know why I've decided to start now? Well you do make some good points in your post though..I can't believe I didn't realize it sounded like I was talking about an STD while I was typing it..weird.

yes as a matter of fact Valentines day blows. when i was in the service i had a girl friend send me a Valentines day card with a letter. it was a dear john letter saying she was getting married valentines day, the day i received it. retribution was mine in the end though, but Valentines day still blows.

I have a girlfriend, but I despise Valentine's Day. It's a stupid holiday that people use as an excuse to pretend to love each other for one day. Singling out one day for love was a stupid idea. You should show affection for the ones you love like that every day. Or at least once a week :)

No one said that they ONLY do that on Velentine's day.
Valentine's Day isn't any different than any other Holiday. If you respect the veterans, then you should ALWAYS respect the veterans. That doesn't mean that the Veteran's Day don't have no point. If you love America, then you should always love our Independence. That doesn't mean that Independence day is worthless. Hell, why celebrate my birthday? My birthday only means that I'm one day older, which is exactly the same as every single day that I'm alive. But just because I think that my birthday is special doesn't mean that I think that the rest of my life is less special.
There are some holidays that are just "cool" to pick on, Valentine's Day being one of them. But I don't see Valentine's Day as being any different than any other holiday. I am thankful for every day that I am alive, but Thanksgiving Day is still fun.

Not only if you are single. If you are in a relationship you have to caugh up hard earned cash on gifts to keep you out of the dog house. The positive end is good lovin's all night. Its almost like having an over priced hooker for the night.

Same here woah thats wierd. No to be mean, but that is why i kinda dont like valentines day. I have to spend my hard earned cash on going out at a nice resteraunt. Thats all she ever wants. Wow this made me come up with a new topic.
Well, I have an interesting tidbit to add to this. So at least read this:
My birthday is ON valentines day. I have this curse I get every year near this day. For one thing, I get sick in some way or another near or on my birthday. Last year I had the flu,but it only affected my muscles, the year before that I got sick three times, the third time My throat got really infected and I couldn't eat without it hurting really really bad. The year even before that I had lost my voice completely for 4 weeks and that sucked.
Oh but there is more! I never had a valentine for any of my birthdays, ever. Last year I broke up with gf at the current time before valentines because she well... wasn;t much of a gf in th first place lol. Then, she forgot my birthday. Before that... hmm nothing bad really. This year I have no idea, but I'd bet it involves no valentine lol.

Like I've stated several times before, I do get stuff...from psychos.
My point is that there is an expectation for men to give...but not women. And no, getting some doesn't count as giving. So I guess a lot of girls don't give stuff, no problem with that in itself, what does bother me is the level of expectation on either side.
