I do...

I very much enjoyed driving to my local blockbuster with a few good friends at night and just walking around aisels with the thousands upon thousands of DVD's everywhere. spending a long time just looking at what to pick up and discussing our favorite films with my friends and the people who work there. really fun tim.

that blockbuster is now closed. alond with most all other blockbusters, hollywood videos, your mom n pop video rental stores. thanks to netflix. now i love netflix, so easy to find what i want. but not the same feeling.

No. Netflix is better in every possible way. BB needs to go out of business already.

We still have two blockbusters by me after one closed down a year ago. For the life of me I can't figure out how they stay open. They are absolute ghost towns. I guess the cost to rent a move or game is so damn high there now ($11 here) that they only need to rent a few a day to stay open.

Sure, it was fun going there when I was a kid and picking out games or movies to rent with my friends or brother. But those times are gone and now I love Netflix.

No, not at all. I can have them delivered to my door for less money along with being able to watch hundreds/thousands of movies and TV shows online, why would I even bother with a video store?

I think there's still a movie/video game rental store somewhere in my area... I'm not sure. I get what you're saying though. When I was younger, I used to love renting games and there were plenty of stores that allowed me to do so. Ah, the nostalgia.

A lot of the video stores where I live the most I have to pay for a video rental is 6 dollars. I rarely go though, I normally just buy them on dvd.

When we first got BR rentals a year ago, there wasn't a whole lot of people lined up to rent them. Now, it's a different story. We've been steadily increasing the number available, but most of our customers are still buying or renting standard DVDs.

while i get what the TC is saying, i do miss looking around for a good flick, i don't miss it that much though and i still prefer netflix and gamefly x1000000000000. last time i rented at blockbuster it cost me $10+ for a game, $4+ for a movie (and it was a dvd, can't imagine what the cost for BR is), and you could only keep them for a week. i ended up going with gamefly and netflix shortly after that and haven't turned back since...

Well seeing as how Hollywood video died we only have like 3 blockbusters around us. Those are so empty that I can't imagine they will be around much longer.

if Netflix is smart (and they are) they'll start renting games also and put gamefly out of business too. I can't believe they haven't yet.

You want the truth? or do you want me to blow smoke? (Ill be honest regardless)

Cause honestly I like having them delivered, and its a better deal if you rent a lot of games, (ie gamefly, netflix, digital download)

No offense mom and pop stores. Not that I don't like blockbuster, video one, but I have moved on.

True. I remember a couple years back when blockbuster was going to merge with Circuit City to avoid bankruptcy. I think we all know how that turned out.

I never could figure out which was worse: the horror I felt upon initial contact with a mysterious sticky substance, or the growing dread as my mind ran wild coming up with possibilities of what was now on my fingers. Ewwww, icky icky yuck yuck.
