Anyone else think the President should not have a vacation ever?

He's the leader of our country, watching him play golf while there are people who can't feed themselves is sickening. Especially having his wife go to belize for a vacation while other people don't have a roof over there heads. Obama was supposed to bring change, seems like same old politics to me. I think the Presidents job should not have any downtime. He should work everyday he is in office and be thankful he can. His job is not to enjoy the lifestyle he has, but to work for us as taxpayers. Him getting a vacation just looks lazy. His job involves meeting famous people all the time so how about we call that a vacation and let him get back to work making the country work.

No more free vacations for Presidents. They get in office, do their 4 years and then leave. No tea time on the beach.

his work is never ending, he is just putting it off. this isn't a normal 9-5 job and everyone who becomes a President should understand they are working for US. we are not paying the government totake vacations on our dollars.

Every President should know his roll. He should not be having fun doing his job. I am sure there are many people who would love to have his job and would do it without any paid vacations. He needs to set the example for people to work hard. It should be the hardest job in the world, not some lazy daisy fun job you can take a vacation whenver you want. His wife should also never be allowed to go on vacation either. God what a waste of tax payer dollars.

Its the most stressful job in the world. If they don't vacation they would probably go mad in a year. I would rather have a president on the verge of going insane than a president that is insane.

where did I say I was republican? I don't think bush should have vacationed either. Im saying ANY president should be working 365 days a year.

The first lady is not an elected offical. She holds no elected title and has no real responsabilities.

I will never understand why people care what Michelle Obama does. She is not the president. I don't care if she goes to strip clubs all day. She isn't an elected offical.

They cost millions to have the secret service to secure the places they want to vacation. That money could be spent on working with other countries leaders or spend that time thinking about how America should advance itself. Wasting time playing golf just seems silly for the most important man in the world. He should be above wasting time doing meanial things like relaxation. Their are people who get paid 20k a year and work every damn day and don't complain about it. How about we havea President show some fortitude and do the job without complaining about too much work.

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the secret service basically follow a president for the rest of his life, even after he leaves office?

He has literally the most stressful job in the world. Look at how many presidents have aged prematurely. Would you rather he have a nervous breakdown?

Ive done 60 hour work weeks before without complaining. our elected officials should be machines for the people. if they are anything less than perfect they should be fired. if I ever showed up to work complaining about my feet hurting boy would I get the snot kicked out of my later. if soldiers can work hard, so can people who are living lavish lifestyles thanks to the public

Yeah but you still got 30days worth of vacation a year :roll:.. And 4 years in the military is nothing compared to 4 years as president you are on the clock 24/7 even if you are on vacation.

vacationing in iraq is quite the place for a vacation. I still believe that politicians should be nothing less than perfect. and anybody that thinks they are still human, well lets kick them out and find some people who know what hard work and good politics is. too many times the lazy scoundrels get elected who are not looking out for anyone but themselves. too many vacations, too much bribery, too much corruption. everything is just slipping.

I think they should limit themselves on the amount of time they can be on a single vacation, but I totally get the need for a president to take a vacation. Especially when you consider that presidents age twice as fast while in office. It's not an easy life.

Presidents don't really take "vacations". Even on the golf course, they're being followed by a small army of staff and security ready to whisk him away the instant an emergency happens.
