Thanks for the advice. I will be very carefull to make sure I'm getting something from it. Although I have insight into many of my problems, fixing them myself is much harder than just recognizing the problem itself. Some people know they're crazy but that doesn't stop them from being nuts LOL.

I wouldn't take his advice exactly. Typically, the very first session of any therapy is called an "in-take session." You're therapist will likely say little or nothing while you just talk on and on about whatever you want to. You're not going to get much in the way of therapeutic advice in the first session.
A large part of the in-take session is so that psychologist can just evaluate you at a "natural state", witness any odd behaviours, look for specific or repated usage of words, types of topics you bring up (family, job, dogs, seeing images that arent real, etc), relevancy of topics (if you ramble or always stick to the point), and the like.
