Was thinking of getting a dynex 32" lcd hdtv but without using the hd. Right now have Analog cable with some digital channels. But since stuff is supposed to go all digital Febuary would i get a nice picture with just regular cable?

I still use vcr's too. I don't rent movies so don't need dvd stuff right now.

Majority of channels do not broadcast in HD yet, so either way you would have to watch SD channels.

I have an HD Cable Receiver and it has about 20 HD channels and they are pretty much the only ones I watch besides Comedy Central. If you plan on watching regular cable on the HD TV it will look bad (especially if you leave it at 16:9). If you watch your local channels a lot, I recommend hooking up an antenna so you can receive a few HD channels.

That's why i was asking. Aren't all channels supposed to go Digital in Febuary? So would mean tv could handle most channels on regular cable? My big crt tv is giving me a hard time so trying to figure out to either replace with another crt or lcd.

I have a 32" sony bravia at my house for the ps3 thats also connected to my pc, which i bought last year at christmas time i believe. Anyway i originally had the hd box in my budget but well i guess i didn't have the money i dont remember at the moment. So for like 7 or 8 months i haven't had hd cable only ps3 games and computer have been displayed in HD. It's not that bad once you get used to it, but if you can afford to get the HD cable box, then go for it. Alot of my friends give me **** for that because ill invite them over and well start to play ps3 or something and then ill switch to the tv and there like "WTF is that **** but its all in good humour. Anyway the point im trying to make is that if you can't afford it then don't get it; if you can afford it then get it and you won't regret it. Hope that helps somewhat. PS. The reason why i never got the hd box after is because i went to university and didn't want to bring the tv first year because well just say school has never been my first priority so i have enough distractions as it is.

I don't know really understand what you are asking, but Digital and HD are not the same thing. If you hook up an antenna to the LCD, you'll have to get a converter box come February to still get channels unless the TV already has digital tuner.

Ok hard to explain. I'm in Canada so might work the same way. I have a digital box but it can only record 1 thing at time but i pay 10 extra per month so get regular cable on my tv's. But everything is recorded on vhs tapes i'm not rich enough to start buying dvd recorders. So its all vhs tapes and specialty channels is digital but channels like nbc, cbs, ect is regular cable. I rarely watch anything directly i watch from vhs tapes..

This is tv i was thinking of. http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?sku_id=0926INGFS10099053&catid=23244&logon=&langid=EN

I just bought a used 27' tv but colors are bad on it, what i get for buying used.

I have an HDTV, but just basic cable. Most channels aren't broadcasted in HD anyway. You will however get NBC, ABC, and FOX in HD for free through you HDTV's built in antenna.
