Anyone here play scratch-offs? I almost won!!

So I bought about $40 worth of $5 scratch-offs. I rubbed those cards just looking for that $1 mil prize. So I'm playing ruby 7's and 8's . you either need to match both numbers in a row or if you get a 7 or an 8 you win the prize. So I scratched and got a 16. I didn't want to scratch off the next number until I saw what the prize was going to be. The prize? $1 mil smackers!! So my heart is pounding. I'm thinking about what I'd do with my winnings. So I scratch the next number. I'm telling myself that it had better be a 16. The first number is a 1. WOW!! If the next number is a 6 I'm a multi! I gently carassed the card in my sweaty hand. Hearts pounding. Here I go.... I scratch and scratch. Am I a millionaire? NO!! The next number is a 7!! I got a 17 instead and my heart died. I played the remainder of my cards and I won $4 bucks. =(

Every single scratch and win I have ever played I have always been 1 off the main prize. I'm usually pretty lucky with other prizes though

Sometimes, most I ever won was $20 off the crossword game they have, where you scratch off a letter from a group, then try and spell words.. more words, more money. O.o

My cousin won $500 from the lotto... and when I was at the YMCA a few months ago, someone was talking about a friend of theirs who won $80,000 back in 1980.

I've played the scratch-off lotto twice. Once I won a free ticket, and with the second ticket I won my original $2 back. I quit while I was even.

Ya, I play from time to time. Whenever my grandma comes over to my house she usually brings a few for me to scratch off for the fun of it. Of course, she still gets the money :P

I won her $5 one time :lol:

I have the worst luck with those. I usually never win, and when I do its only a dollar or two.

Thats what they do to you. They make you think you are SOO close to winning, so you keep on buying them, thinking that eventually you have to win big.

Its not worth it, in my opinion. Not worth the time.

I love scratch tickets. I played alot over the summer and i actually gained about $16 over the course of the summer but than i went out and bought $40 worth of tickets and fell back into the negatives. There soo addicting. Biggest prize i ever won was $16 but i buy the $2 scratch tickets.

Play them if I'm given them, never seen the fascination

I like the 3 dollar crossword puzzles.
