Seriously? When I'm at school ,and we have classes with the ones in the classroom next door. I'm sitting there hoping the teacher does'nt pick me to read...It's SO annoying:?

Well you should never be shy... Just be yourself and don't care what people think of you. Unless you're a jerk, which I'm sure you're not.
As for the stutter, you may need some kind of therapy.

no i'm kidding...I have the same problem. mainly with reading or speaking in front of people at school but other than that I'm fine. Just be open to meeting people and don't think the worst is going to happen

Ah, well then you only need to solve the issue of your confidence and you'll kill 2 birds with 1 stone. ;)
Get to know your classmates. Whether it's just saying good morning or whatever, just try to socialise with everyone and they'll like you. Just be confident with who you are.

Thanks, I'll try : )
i would strap a shock collar around ur neck, every time i hear you stutter, "ZAP"..its tough love, man tough love
All it takes is practice. Its hard to actually learn to be comfortable around people, but you just have to be confident and be yourself.
As for the stutter, as someone else suggested, you may have to get some sort of therapy or take a speech class to fix it.
Try being more sociable, take baby stops lol , I occasinally stutter words but I just take deep breaths and try talk slow when I am in those ssituations.
Practice (socializing). I'm still somewhat shy, but nowhere as bad as say 5 years ago. There's no simple cure.MrPralineYep, I was the same. Just realized that there is no good reason to be nervous over what people I don't care about think of me...

I have a similar problem, but a little bit different. I can speak in front of a thousand people (and have) but I can't carry on a conversation around people unless I know them REALLY well. I usually get tongue-tied or give up altogether and just nod along with what they say. Don't really know what the solution to that is.
Practice is the obvious simple solution but if you have full blown SAD then cognitive behavioural therapy and some anti depressants can help. I recommend watching this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4truuD_xMP0&eurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fuser%2FItsAComment&feature=player_profilepage
The solution? Just ask questions when you don't know what to say. It always works. People enjoy answering questions/talking about themselves.I have a similar problem, but a little bit different. atenolol or any other beta blocker works wonders for stopping stuttering. and its alot easier to get presicribed than pure anti anxiety drugs like xanax/klonopin/valium. i had terrible social anxiety in highschool and used drugs and alcohol for pretty much the entire first year of college and slowly didnt need them anymore. i feel ur painSeriously?
