I love pickles. Eat ‘em alone, in my sandwich, in my salad, everywhere. I’m open to trying different ones too, like fried pickles. How about you, OT? Do you like pickles? How do you like ‘em?

There are two kinds of pickles: some are sweet, some are sour.

I want to find the sour ones but I swear, everytime I get home I picked the sweet ones again xD

I love almost all kinds of food, and pickles is strangely not one of them. I really like other pickled vegetables (like carrots, for example), but something about pickled cucumbers doesn't work for me.

I always have pickled cucumbers in my fridge, even in the summer, the baby kind in particular, or whatever it's called in English. The big ones are too sour for me, but they work well in the Russian salad. Fried pickles is news to me, it sounds ridiculous and I'm totally gonna try it out.

I always fancy that, but i have no problems going for VERY sour pickled cucumbers sometimes.

I like pickles (as in the cucumbers), and a lot of other pickled stuff.

The whole concept of pickling and preserving is pretty cool. You can pickle just about anything.

Love me a nice pastrami sandwich with mustard and some nice tangy pickles. Love steak tacos with some quick-pickled onions. Martini with a pickled onion in it. Little snack bowl with pickled green beans, artichokes, olives, and asparagus. Yum!

I actually made some fermented (pickled) hot sauce a while ago. Dice up all the veggies, throw em in a jar with 4% by weight brine, let it ferment for two weeks, then blend pasteurize and bottle. Delicious!

Yeah you can pickle just about anything with nipples

On a serious note: yes, you can pickle animal protein.

@SolidGame_basic: It's pretty common in British chip shops. But na, can't stand the fucking things. Like eating bile.

Yeah, eat them almost every winter morning with sandwiches, plus with any dish with meat in it.

I was going to make my own pickles a while back, but never got around to it. I may still yet, but all of my canning glassware, or at least the two big ones needed for pickles, are being used for my homemade extracts (vanilla) at the moment.

To answer the question, yes, I do like pickles, specifically the dill ones, but I don't exactly love them either. I'm happy to put them on a sandwich and I'm happy to munch on one by itself, but it's not a snack I actively seek out on my own either.

@lamprey263: bread and butter pickles are the only type I've tried and constantly did not like.

Surprised to see people here that love pickles and have not tried fried pickles yet, they are great. I prefer thin sliced (like on sandwiches) over fried pickle spears.

Oh yes. Some are better than others though, depending on what is put in the brine.
