Have not seen either, but both look bad to me...if being honest. Immortals looks like a bad 300 Heist looks like another bad Ben Stiller comedy (been a long time since he did something funny IMO)

In Time had a good "universe" that it built, but it let it go to waste.

50/50 looks good, but my local theater that shows indie flicks etc. doesn't have it anymore. Gosh, there are no good movies out right now....

That J. Edgar flick looks interesting. Mainly because I'm a history nerd.

The good movies usually don't hit till Thanksgiving (dearth of great releases b/w the end of summer and holiday season most every year). If money is not an issue for you, just go on a movie date b/c they are 'fun'. I prefer not to spend that amount of money on a movie unless I am relatively sure it is really good though (like $40-$80 for dinner, movie, snacks)

I have no intention of seeing either movie either. I don't much like Eddie Murphy and I hate Ben Stiller.

Stiller's career arc is like that of many other comedians. -start out poor, actually kind of funny -gets cast in lower budget stuff that takes some chances -gets 'noticed' -gets big paychecks -studios no longer willing to pay big money to put them in something that takes chances (can't afford to pay him millions for it to bomb) -now roles pay a lot but are same old, same old

Yeah we are just looking to get out on a date. We did a painting class last weekend where you could bring your own drinks. Pretty fun actually. But I typically only see movies I REALLY want to see since we have Netflix. Might need a plan B tonight.

I like Ben Stiller. He's been in some terrible movies, though. But I think he wasn't really the reason why those movies sucked.

Immortals is diabolical. It makes little sense, its gratuitous and laughably stupid. Unless you're planning to ask your wife for a divorce afterwards don't see it. I'm pleading here!

I saw Tower Heist. If you're looking for something thats enjoyable with a few laughs, its a good one to go to. Nothing groundbreaking though.

As expected. I wish it was more like Ocean's 11. I heard the ending was outlandish.

Yep. It was great the first half or so. The pay off was mediocre.

The original idea and plot that Eddie Murphy had for Tower Hesit was so cool. It was just a bunch of black comedians, like Chris Rock and others trying to do something like Oceans Eleven, but instead they end up doing the worst heist ever. Instead of that we got crap like Ben Stiller and a lame movie.

I enjoyed 300, which was why I liked the previews for Immortals... I read a few where the action was phenomenal but a thin plot.
