I think the terrorists want to attack on a date when we least suspect it. Besides, thanks to 9/11, the JKF plot, Fort Dix, etc have been foiled. However, I have a feeling we all need to be prepared in case a terrorist somehow manages to destroy something.

Many people hate the US. It's much , much harder to get to us now. If they could, they would have by now. It's hype and paranoia. They've been saying every single year that we're going to get attacked. It hasn't happened. They keep busting up terrorist plans.
The idea of terrorism isn't just go around causing the most possible deaths... Its all in the name, "TERRORism" they do one large scale event or whatever, people are terroified. Job done, when it becomes a less credible threat, another attack comes.
