It says that it's free, but I'm a bit skeptical. Has anyone else tried it out yet?

I've tried it. It actually works REALLY well. I called some friends and they said that my voice was perfectly clear and I had them call me and everything worked perfectly fine.

Never heard of this feature. Do you call other gmail accounts? Or do you call people's phones?

It lets you call actual landlines and cell phones. But you can only call Canadian and American numbers.

Yeah it's great for calling Gamestop and making death threats because they don't have Battletoads in stock.

You know they can backtrace that, right? I'd be looking out my window for the cyberpolice if I were you.

Apparently it's free to call landlines in the US from the EU but what about mobiles?

I didn't know you can receive calls...how does that work? I have used it, but just to show my dad, I just called my home phone with it. It is indeed free to call Canada and USA, but you can still call the rest of the world, it just costs money...

When I opened it, it said $.10 by the minutes. Are you sure this is free?

Works really well. Not too much use outside of the US though. Hopefully they roll out in other areas too.
