Well? Anyone?

Most likely considering my views align to his and I'm not really satisfied with Mitt Romney as the candidate for the GOP.

No. In fact not no, but f*ck no.
What about George Bush Jr.?
If you want a libertarian in office you may as well vote Ron Paul.
Pikdum
Truth be told, he's not really a libertarian. He is more of a Constiutionalist conservative who believes in state's rights and limited federal government control.
You might as well just write in Ron Swanson. It would mean about as much, and will probably get about as many votes.
Im curious as to why people aren't or people think he is a joke. I mean has anyone that said no even read his views and political stances? His stances are so much better than Obama and Romney put together honestly.
Okay, but do you support him? Do you like his political idealogy?I can't watch him when he speaks. His twitch drives me crazy.

Okay, but do you support him? Do you like his political idealogy? No, he's a republican. :P[QUOTE="airshocker"]

I like his budgetary stance. But he's not a politically viable candidate.

On the national scale he may not be electable but he was a two-term governor in New Mexico running on more or less the same basic principles he is running on now. Sure, he was a member of the GOP then but like Ron Paul now he's a libertarian by nature.*raises hand* I used to be a hard-core libertarian. In fact, I was a market anarchist. I bought into libertarianism from top to bottom. Rights-deontological ethics, austrian economics, localism, non-interventionism, the whole plate. So yeah, I know where Gary Johnson is coming from and could probably write a short book detailing the reasons that I would never vote for Gary Johnson, or any right-wing libertarian.Im curious as to why people aren't or people think he is a joke. He thinks that we shouldn't raise the debt limit. His budgetary policies would plunge us into another recession.[QUOTE="airshocker"]

He thinks that we shouldn't raise the debt limit. His budgetary policies would plunge us into another recession. And this is why ideologues never get elected. Yet their supporters will blame the two-party system and the media.

Exactly. The media shouldn't give equal air time to people of differing political opinions. Quite frankly, I don't think people should hear Ron Paul's opinion on monetary policy just as much as they would hear Krugman, Mankiw, Hubbard, or Bernanke's opinion. The latter four are *actual economists*, Ron Paul is batsh!t insane, and Gary Johnson is simply ignorant of macroecon 101.[QUOTE="GreySeal9"]

Is he the latest candidate that 14-19 year olds think can save the world?

Because the differing political opinions are crazy. The consensus side (ie my side of the monetary policy debate) is built upon 100 years of macroeconomic theory and evidence, it's supported by almost every economist who doesn't work for a propaganda mill, and Ron Paul's stance, well, isn't. It's like giving equal air time to Eli Weisel and holocaust deniers.[QUOTE="radicalcentrist"]
