People came into the show thinking it was going to be just like SG-1 and Atlantis, fortunately they were disappointed. I really like the fact that they decided to take what they learned from BSG and bring it to the stargate universe. No pun intended.
Great show, just bought the 1.0 bluray set at walmart for 38 bucks.
I missed the 1st couple of episodes so I'm waiting for the dvd box set to watch the series. The only thing im looking forward to are the O'Neill Crossovers, they always seem to make me chuckle.

My attitude is that they stripped away everything that made the previous Stargate series fun, and grafted in everything that I hated about BSG, leaving a show I am pretty minimally interested in.
The previous Stargate series didn't always try to take themselves that seriously. In fact at times they were almost a parody of other Sci-Fi shows. Universe clearly wants to capitalize on the success of Battlestar Galactica (a great series in its own right), but in doing so it has lost much of the franchise's charm. Still the series is decent and I will continue to watch it.
Uhh kinda dislike it, however unlike everybody else i really like Dr Rush and i think he shouldn't always be portrayed as "the bad guy". I loved SG1 and Atlantis though
Yes and I like it, although Im not sure I like the cliffhanger. It's so predictable, the doc will find out how to get into the crashed ship, start it up, fly it and manage to get to the Destiny.

It's ok but still too slow though most of the episodes. Also i wonder when they can install some more lights on the ship because there isnt a room that has enough light that wouldnt strain your eyes to read something lol.
I hear a lot of people talking about this show not having the charm of it's predecessor's and I think that was the point when they made it.
They wanted to make it feel REAL. They didn't want to go the route of SG-1 and Atlantis which, as someone already said, was really a parody of a lot of other sci-fi shows.
To compare Universe with SG-1 or Atlantis isn't doing the show justice. It's not the same and can't just be called bad because it doesn't hold to the doctrine the other two series used.
i watched those 10 episodes. I have to say i am little bit disappointed. Because i really like the SG-1 and Atlantic. But this series, it's very different that. I would excepted. But when you looked very open mind. And give it some time. You realized it's very good. And at the point where they, paused the series. Its very good start for. Next month when it's coming back! And that scots actor is my favorite. Its have given very much script on the show. I liked in beginning of the show. He have very good personality and aaw that accent!
