I listen to my ipod touch 3g before I go to sleep and I uesd to have a headphone that would be able to change to the next song or last song on the button on my old headphones but I recently upgraded to better headphones that don't have those buttons to change the song. I don't want to have my ipod fully on and I don't wanna open my eyes to see the button on the screen to change songs. So is there anyway to do this?

That's so dumb.

OP I think the only way to change songs without going through the touch screen is by using headphones with buttons like you mentioned.

Or if you have a jailbroken Ipod, you can download the activator app through cydia that allows you to map all the outer buttons to perform various operations, song changing included. Hope that helps

You could double tap the home button while it is locked and click next. I can do it without looking for the most part. But without those headphones, no.

Know that on my iPhone if I double tap the home button in the lock screen, it shows a music player at the top.
