it could be fun if you had a good manager. i worked there for a little over a year, first 8 months were great, last 4 new manager... not so great.

I've worked retail a couple times in the past (and now I work in services... which is essentially retail) and you do have the annoying customers that want stuff for free or for a reduced price. You have to know how to chose your words so that you don't come off like an idiot.

Long hours on your feet, places like gamestop get mobbed, everyone feels they are more important than the customer you are currently servicing and will **** at you for having to wait 20 seconds despite seeing a line up of 20 people...
Nerds will come in and ask you about a product just so they can correct you, people will ask you to take money off of products despite you not being able, people will personally blame you and scream in your face if a product breaks, or if they don't like a product, once you become a manager, you have to deal with all the ordering/recieving paperwork, AND get screamed at all day long by your superiors when they call and ask why your store only profited in the millions, and people who feel your staff did them wrong, even though normally it'll just be because of the aformentioned wait...
People will scream at you and blame you personally for GTA4 not being out, people will use very personal insults on you, but, if you are the least bit sarcastic, will scream and ask for your manager, or if you are a manager, they'll ask for the number to head office, who will then call and scream at you like you raped the customer,
if the til is short, you'll be blamed, and they'll claim you stole the 93 cents it was short, you'll literally be spat on a few times, people will treat you like **** and you'll need to treat them like gods...

So...yeah...there's more, but you get it right? Working at a games store blows.
