Are Cops Above THE LAW?

i always see cops doing stuff that they dont even need to be doing. like speeding, making uturns at stop signs, doing the ymca dance, etc.

and they dont EVER get tickets because other cops WONT give cops tickets.

i dont get it. no one is supposed to be above the law.

you can actually write them a ticket for those things, its been done. its just really hard to go through all the trouble if you arent a cop. i dont know the exact process either so dont ask me. im just real crafty about not getting caught :)

but yes, most cops dont know anything about the law, and also think theyre their to push you around. which legally, they cant.

Take me for example, when I lived in this apartment where there were no parking spots (just street parking) some guy was saying its his spot, because its in the front of his house and that hes gonna damage my car.

so I called the cops, and I had to move my car. Why? because he knew the cop.

cops arent part of the community anymore, they are just jerks.

Police have one of the most stressfull jobs in existence. If you don't break the law, you don't get hassled.

Imagine if you had to deal with crazy people everyday.

i work at a funeral home. it takes a lot out of me. i feel kinda depressed whever i work a funeral, but then i get a paycheck and i become happy.

The only reason people dislike police is because they are given parking tickets or the like. Hell, I've even been hassled for skating on private property.

What people don't realize is that there are actually officers out there catching criminals, busting drug labs and serving the community. Their job is much larger than just what you see in your car. You think every drug bust can make the news?

criminals are doing pretty good these days though

I find that if people were more vigilant, maybe the crime rate would go down.

where is he a cop? and watch your tone daddies boy. i respect cops when they do their job. but im get hassled sometimes for stupid s**t and i hate it.

true story:

last night i was getting the metro to byker and while waiting i saw an old drunk man singing various songs.. two police came up to see if he was causing much trouble. they soon saw that he wasn't, and then one of the police joined in the song and started dancing.

a girl next to me was filming it on her phone so i asked her to send it to me via bluetooth. she pressed some buttons and the message 'sexy poon is trying to send you........'

needless to say, i lol'd.

Im saying i think most cops are only in it to make themselves feel like big men, knowing they cant be touched.

Most cops I come into contact with are more interested in showing off to their friends, or protecting them.

Some cops are good, in my experience most are stupid.

heres another example: I was in a band for a while and the neighbor never liked that. so he called the cops. now this cop has been called a few times but he came up to us when we were out on the street and we told him that the neighbor just walked into the house and that we werent even practicing. so he says "Oh", and then drives off. Because he agreed with the guy. But we had to pull an arm and a leg to get the guy who walked into our practice space (a guys house) in trouble. and the guy had all sorts of warrants and stuff on him as well.

point of the story: when someone tells you someone walks into your house without permission theres usually something to check out there, if you're a cop.

Some cops get them off the street, others kinda join in. I remember here in Chicago, a lot of cops will take your money and drugs and let you take off. How is that deterring drug use etc? That's enterprising. Enforcing speeding laws.....a cop here in a suburb called Stone Park recently died. Why? Because he always felt he was above the law and would always be seen crusing his bike at 90+ mph on a 35 mph road. So I guess there is a bit of above the law attitude, especially here in Chicago

No people dislike police because there is an untrust towards people with power and authority, and this is a good thing, people with power over us should be wached carefully, however this is no reason to dislike them, but they do act smug and like total ***** most of the time, and after that you know they are the ones you are dependant on if you need help, there is no excuse for a cop who people dont like or trust and who cant do his job proberly, because people have to depend on them

I have a feeling most coasted through any college required and learned little about the law.

It seems citizens have to tell them what the law is, unless violence is invovled...

The general Rule Of Law dictates that no man is above the law irrelevant of rank or statue. However in practice this is far from the truth, police are given special priorities above regular citizens such as being allowed to speed (when chasing a criminal or travelling to the scene of an emergency) and arresting people (while citizens arrests are deemed legal, I'm more than certain that if you handcuffed someone it would be classed as excessive force).

If you mean doing things like speeding etc. when not an emergency, they'll just be taking things for granted just like any other job in the world. I can guarentee someone will read this at work or during class.
