I had a chevy truck but its been stolen twice in one year and i believe this time its gone for good. Im taking the chance i have now to get something slightly better on gas and more seating. Does anyone know if mustang year 2000 and above are pretty anti theftsafe? Any other sporty cars i could pick up from 2 to 8k? Im a tall guy and i cant stand bending over to get in and out of cars so that why i had a truck before.

Mustangs are NOT recommended if you're tall. Many of my shorter friends have one, and everytime I ride in it I feel extremely cramped; like I'm trying to fit myself inside a suitcase. I'm only 6 feet tall dammit.

BTW where do you live? Sounds like a rough neighborhood.

BC, Canada. They only steal it because it can be broken into within 2 mins with only a screw driver. The tow truck guy showed me what they did the first time it was stolen. Im hoping for a car with imbolizers for fuel, ignition and such. They use old trucks like mine to haul whatever they go and steal, so im getting a car so there will be one less reason to steal it. i also noticed honda 1999 and 2000 were to top stolen in the past 10 years! Know anyone else that has a neat car made in 2000 or later?

Get a Pacer or a Gremlin... Not too many people steal those anymore.

Look man if you want to get a sports car spend just below what you can and with the rest of the money get an alarm system. Seriously man, it's probably a very good investment. I recently got a viper alarm system for my 09 rx8. It cost over $1000 but it was sure worth it.

as far as sports cars go, I would personally try to find a used 350z

I have had a mustang for 12 years...never once worried about it getting stolen. This seems more a product of where you live than anything else (unless you decide to buy something rare and/or expensive)...mustangs are a dime a dozen. My advice would be to take more preventative measures no matter what you buy (alarm, steering column lock, etc.) But TBH, if a thief wants something, they are are going to get it...all you can do it make it more difficult and hope that they choose something else BTW, Trucks and SUV's are the most stolen vehicles around here (Texas)...they get taken to Mexico. -I would find out what the most stolen vehicle types are in your area and avoid them
