don't tell about stuff you don't understand, as soon as you fall down in a mosh pit it's stops around you and someone (most of the time atleast 3 people) are going to help you up.

That's almost always the case. The only time I've ever been trampled was at a very small gig by a band whose drummer I was friends with. There weren't many people but it was a small space, and a fairly scary experience.

This thread reminds me of a conversation that my cousin had with my grandpa. My cousin was going to a concert so my grandpa asked him, "are there going to be black people there?" My cousin replied, "....yeah, of course." My grandpa's final comment was, "WATCH OUT THEN, THERE COULD BE DRUGS!"

Something like 10 people once got killed at a Pearl Jam concert. And I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that the same thing once happened at a Smashing Pumpkins concert.

More a problem with general admission really. In concerts with assigned seats this doesn't happen. Perhaps the promoters are at fault as this can occur in a concert from any genre and not a specific genre.

Rap concerts depend on the neighborhood. You can have Ice-T rapping a song saying nothing but shoot that ****** at a good neighborhood and everyone would be fine with it and just have a good time. It doesn't depend on the color skin of those attending either, I've been to all black and all white concerts both in good neighborhoods and they were both equally fine. At a bad neighborhood though concerts can get a little scary. I went to one in Newark before and being an out of towner everyone was staring me down giving me dirty looks. There were cops everywhere and it was not inviting at all. So it doesn't really matter who's playing, just where it's playing.

I think for rock concerts it's more of who's playing. some music influences pushing wich is really annoying when you're trying to enjoy a band you like.

R0cky_Racc00n

yeah and even then it depends on the band too....because soem of them ask for circle pits and stuff while ive actually seen one at warped tour stop what was going on and chew out some people for being too aggressive

Does Dave Matthews Band count as rock? If so then they're as safe as can be. DMB is the only band I've seen live (yet).

um... not really kid, you see, it depends on the whos the rapper. If it is someone like lil John you could go insane. But think about those heavy metal or whatever you rock star fans call it. That music makes you go beyond insane, huh

No way!well they may have to depend on which concerts are you talking about. Some have mosh pits, extreme carnage, some peaceful and just plain dull. But to sum up, Rock concerts are less safer.

I got kicked in the head and knocked out for a few seconds when I saw converge a few years ago. Jake Bannon also punched a dude in the face when he ran into him onstage. That was a weird show, though. Lots of straight edge violence monger types. Every other time I've seen them, everything has been really cool. When I saw No Age and Abe Vigoda in a basement, we almost got electricuted because the basement flooded in the middle of Abe Vigoda's set. All the hip hop shows I've been to have also been really cool. Good vibes and lots of sharing.

I go to shows all the time and there have only been one or two times when I didn't feel like I wasn't safe.

they're both relatively safe as long as you don't do anything stupid, but I would go to a rock concert anyways, just cuz they're better than rap concerts

It depends on the artist, you cant stereotype the concerts at all. I mean, different crowds like different music, if you go to a Slipknot concert then you will be tossed and go insane with the crowd, if you go to a radiohead concert then you will just chill and enjoy the music with everyone else. Same goes with rap, if you go and see Jay-Z as opposed to someone more underground like Keak da Sneak

For the most part rap concerts are safe and you have a much greater chance of getting hurt in a mosh pit than you do at a rap concert. I've never seen any trouble at any of the rap concerts I've been to.

On the otherhand this rapper Plies was performing at a nightclub in my college town, and members of his entourage shot their guns into the audience.... but that's pretty much an isolated incident...

[QUOTE="Saturos3091"]Depends on the band and genre of rock.

However just stay out of the pits. I suggest not to go to any Black Metal concerts either...unless you want goat entrails flung on your face.
Berzz

I've been to one Black Metal concert and hell it was extremely violent, haha. Still very exciting stuff, though. Anyway, even when going to a Black Metal show, if you don't want to get hurt, you can always go to the back and still see very well from there.

Yeah, that's where I'd probably be if I ever went to one. I've never actually been to one anyway, just seen vids of them cutting up goats etc. it looks like it's definately...an experience. :P

Yeah, Smashing Pumpkins and especially Pearl Jam are pretty far from the kinds of bands whose concerts you would EXPECT to die at. I have a hard time imagining Eddie Vedder standing up on stage and laughing when audience members get ****ed up.

Still, I'm just throwing that out there. Does this mean that rock concerts are more dangerous than rap concerts? Of course not. But honestly, out of the concert injuries that I can recall hearing about, most of them have occurred at rock concerts. Of course, my limited memory is not very compelling evidence. And furthermore, I don't like rap, so I don't pay any attention to what happens at rap concerts. So even if some horrible **** were to happen at a rap concert, I'd probably never know about it anyway.
