I'd like a response from someone who is knowledgeable on the subject, please. Personally, I doubt it.

I do drugs and I'm not in jail. But what makes someone worthy of being called a criminal? Speeding? Molesting? Theft? Burglary? Murder? Drugs? If drugs, then most of them get away. If murder, much less of them get away. Burglary, I'd guess fifty-fifty.DeathxcoreI'd say doing drugs isn't criminal, but selling them is?

In that case, most of them get away. Selling drugs can be as complex as having seperate phones, code words, meeting points, guns, and lots of backup muscle or just handing a friend some pot and they give a some money for it. The living room sellers are harder to catch, they're totally off the map and everything is personal.
Most criminals don't get caught, no. Even 50% of murderers get away without ever being caught.gameguy6700... not in the US.

If you do drugs which are illegal, you have committed a crime and are a criminal in the eyes of the law.

Um... yeah you do. That's what the law is. Disagree if you want but you cant say "i'm not a criminal for doing drugs" because you are, like it or not. You can say "i think it's wrong that i'm a criminal for doing drugs" but you cant outright argue with the law. If you do drugs you're a criminal and have committed a crime, simple as that.

No, that statistic is specfically for the US. If you think about it for a second it shouldn't be surprising. How are the police supposed to track down the people who commit seemingly random murders? I'm talking about gang-related murders, people who get killed in a back ally way while being mugged, and generally any crime where the victim and killer had no prior association with each other. Look at how long it takes cops to catch serial killers. If those people stopped after the first or second murders they would never get caught (and often they could get away with a lot more).
Watch shows like "The New Detectives" sometime. Notice how just about every case on those shows involves a wife or husband killing each other, or disgruntled co-workers/family members/friends/etc. killing the victim? Police may have some powerful techniques to gather damning evidence, but all of that evidence is useless unless they can find a suspect.

I posted a link that said across the US over 60% of murder cases were "solved"[QUOTE="Ninja-Hippo"]If you do drugs which are illegal, you have committed a crime and are a criminal in the eyes of the law.JandurinThe "eyes of the law" are stupid and I don't have to see as they do.
Why would you care if you're a criminal for doing something you think isn't wrong? As long as you don't get caught, there isn't a problem.

I posted a link that said across the US over 60% of murder cases were "solved"Well then I probably heard an old statistic, or a statistic from a different source. Regardless of which is true, the fact of the matter is that if you kill someone you stand a decent chance of getting away with it.

No, because the law states that you are innocent until proven guilty. If you are innocent but found guilty, obviously you're not a criminal as you committed no crime, but have been incorrectly charged as one. Not that that has anything to do with anything. :?

If you're really guilty of the crime but proven innocent then you would still be viewed as a criminal if the truth was found out. A person who commits a crime is a criminal regardless of whether or not he is proven guilty.

Okay, so, in the eyes of the law, you can be a criminal without being one in reality. The innocent until proven guilty thing would mean a murderer isn't a criminal until he's caught and convicted.
[QUOTE="Jandurin"] Okay, so, in the eyes of the law, you can be a criminal without being one in reality. The innocent until proven guilty thing would mean a murderer isn't a criminal until he's caught and convicted.Ninja-HippoWhat logic is that? I dont see why you're arguing with this, it's really very simple. If you do something which is against the law, you've committed a crime. A person who commits a crime is called a criminal. Easy! Doing illegal drugs = against the law = committing a crime = a criminal! 2+2=4 It's like you're using external factors to create intrinsic qualities. Anyway, then "speeding" = criminal = everyone.
[QUOTE="Jandurin"] It's like you're using external factors to create intrinsic qualities. Anyway, then "speeding" = criminal = everyone. :roll:Ninja-HippoWhat? :? You're arguing with common sense. Speeding = a crime. So yes, if you break the speed limit you're committing a crime and you're a criminal. You might not like it, but it's the law. I don't like it and I don't agree with it. That's final. Allowing authority to label you should be a crime :o
[QUOTE="Jandurin"] I don't like it and I don't agree with it. That's final. Allowing authority to label you should be a crime :oNinja-HippoIt's fine that you dont agree with it, that's what i said from the start. I was just saying you cant say "i'm not a criminal for doing drugs" just because you disagree with the law, because like it or not, you are. I can say that, actually. I would pass a lie detector test saying that I wasn't a criminal, even though I've sped and run red lights and such.
