Hi. My name is Dan and I used to be a Bully.Wilfred_Owen
im called daniel too :P
and not especially... the thing about a forum is its just as easy to flame someone back as it is for them to flame you.
Bullies usually get taken out pretty quickly... but I guess I shouldn't be surprised that people are going to accuse the mods of being bullies. We get blamed for everything, after all...MAILER_DAEMON

I'm a well known tyrant. Rawr.SolidSnake35Shouldn't you be "sss"ing instead? :P
I haven't been bullied. Mods usually take care of them, so it's a safer "playground", metaphorically.

First you don't even get my name right, then you give me a wedgie! That's just wrong. :PFirst you don't even get my name right, then you give me a wedgie! That's just wrong. :PCyrax-Sektor
Dammit! It's tough being a bully to people with weird usernames. Why can't you call yourself something normal like Bob or Jim?

It's funny when you think about it. Those of use who have gone through the cycles of internet growth have witnessed the downfall of it. It used to be. "It's the internet, who cares?" Now it's serious business.
The internet was much better when it was considered uncool and only for nerds. At least back then we didn't have uptight douchebags with all of their OMG this is TERRIBLE, it's as serious as a heart attack BS.
How dare you talk to me that way on the interweb. It means everything to me. How dare you! You gonna gets it. I'm not simply gonna ignore you I'm gonna tells on you. I'm gonna tells on you so bad. I'm gonna write the governer and the Fox I-team.

Won't we confoose Oleg more? :oWon't we confoose Oleg more? :oCyrax-Sektor
Actually, that'd be ideal if a bunch of you had the same username. That way I can post something like...
*gives USER1337 a double twist indian burn*
...and I'll be bullying several people at once! It'd be a big time saver. Multi-tasking FTW!

Yah, but couldn'y you just say *gives everyone on gamespot a double twist indian burn*?
[QUOTE="blooddemon666"]I've given a few users on this forum swirlies._Marisa_
I knew a bully once, in 8th grade, all talk though...had people laughing at me because I was 6'5 in 8th grade....said I was a freak....
Then one day we were walking out of science class, he was saying, "freak freak freak" I finally had enough...
I wound up....clenched my fist.....and hit him with all of my 6'5 210 pound football playing force right into his spinal cord.
He doubled over, out of breath, started coughing and tearing and whatnot. And nobody ever made fun of me again.
Yah, but couldn'y you just say *gives everyone on gamespot a double twist indian burn*?BOBBALOOUUUUUU
But then it wouldn't feel like a personal attack. A key part of making someone cry is to let them believe they are being singled out. You want the target to think, "Why me? Why me?"

Sounds like you have the whole bullying thing figured out. :D
Aren't interweb bullies called "trolls"?
(Mods can be annoying and moderate you for missing a letter in a censore or typing in all caps, but heck, it's like the police stopping you for jaywalking, it's a stupid reason, but it's their job.)
EDIT:
They're called trolls. darthzew
Beat me to it.
Have any of you been bullied here on OT? I think the only real bullies here are the mods:xBlitz_Nemesis
I think too many people say that as a way to justify whenever they do wrong (not that I'm saying you are)
The Mods here are given the task of keeping this place running smoothly and that means that sometimes they have to be put in a power play sort of situation where their word is essentially law.
While a lot of the rules at Gamespot is black and white there's a ton that goes on in the grey and it's up to the Mod to decide how to handle it. It's not like the Mod looks at people and decides they want to give them a hard time, it's because they see something that might start out grey and end up black soon thereafter.
Do some mess up either accidentally or because of intent? Of course but that's the same for everyone.I don't agree with most of my moderation (as you can see from my polite and super informative threads in the Mod area sometimes) but for the most part I understand why they were done. Sometimes both sides agree to disagree and we move on.
You also have to remember that sometimes a Mod seems like a stick in the mud because they're not able to react as a "regular" poster normally would. It's like the 4 year old that swears in front of his parents. Now inside the parents are cracking up but on the outside they have to be the one to set the example of how things are supposed to work and what is and is not acceptable. I have no doubt that Mods think that some things they have to moderate are funny but at the same time they have a obligation to keep the place how it's meant to run.
Overall on the overall bully subject? I see some stalkers a lot that just love to post in people's threads and take them off course but thankfully I've only had to deal with that twice here in over a year of posting and no bullies so far. I'm sure one will run into me one day, just how places like this are.
A certain mod on SW is a real %$&@ #u*. Once there were 3 users mocking me DIRECTLY using my GS name, and got away with it. Then whenever someone does something funny and I am a little sarcastic, but stay away from pointing fingers, I still get mod-ed. Finally, the mod got owned by a friend, and I pointed it out in my sig by linking it, and I got banned for a month. I NEVER said ____ is a jerk/noob/insert-insult-here, I just joined in on the laughs. This is worse than cops using their sirens just to cross red lights, or other abuses of power. I see no rule against linking to a thread that has an ebarrasing conversation and no insults in it.
