Ive always been called lazy by my parents. Recently I found out that I have an underactive thyroid. Things have been going so much better since. I got a full time job for the first time in my life and I will be going to college full time. Weird how checking on my thyroid changed me from doing nothing to doing something.

I cant see how anybody could be lazy just because they want to be. I dont think people are lazy for the heck of it. I think there are underlying problems that cause it.

The only lazy people I know can hardly stand up without losing their breath because they're fat. They weren't always fat, and they weren't always lazy, but when you put down three full plates at dinner and then join everyone for dessert, then go back for seconds on dessert, WTF do you think is going to happen?

I do know one skinny lazy fella, but he just doesn't give a shit.

The hormones responsible for satisfaction vary greatly among people. People who get little satisfaction from achieving things tend to be considered lazy, as their lives consist out of avoiding effort. For them, effort is rarely worth the reward.
Considering that, I believe that most people who are lazy are simply following their life in a way that makes them happy. It certainly is a choice, but it definitely is the best choice for them. It's a shame that the education system does not accommodate for these people. So much intellect is lost because so little time is spend on stimulating students.

I've always found "lazy" to be a silly insult. There are people who are in TC's position (having something physically wrong with them), then there are people who are just naturally unambitious. Enjoying leisure, having small, manageable goals, and refusing to lose sleep or time with their family is an admirable quality. Insulting these people doesn't make sense to me.

Ever been to someones house for the first time in a long while and notice that same plate of food is still sitting on the far corner of their desk? I have.

Ever known someone who only showers once every two weeks because they're "not going anywhere?" I have.

Ever known someone who let a minor repair on the house turn into a  hole in the roof in the living room, and then fix the problem by putting tarp over it and catching rain in pots and pans? I have.

There are most definitely truely lazy people out there, and they are disgusting beings.

Nothing wrong with laziness in moderation. As long as your willing to work hard when you need to.
