Are These Bad Grades?

Hey guys, my b-day is this wed, I'm turning fifteen, currently in my sophomore year. My parents won't get me anything because of my "bad grades", are they a bit too strict? It doesn't matter anyways, I have 300$ saved up for myself.

Civics and Economics Honors- D+

Spanish 1- A

English 2 IB - A-

World History IB - A

Algebra 2 Honors - A

My Civics and Economics and English 2 are A/B day classes.

I must explain the D+.

I moved from canada 5 months ago, this is my first time, EVER, taking american govt. So when they ask my all of these questions about the Constitution, Amendments, and all that jazz, I'm pretty confused.

Those are fine. But I know what you mean, I'm a straight-A student, except for this quarter in Social Studies. D+. All they looked at was that, and as a result, they took my TV and my PS2 out of my room and lockedthem in the closet downstairs for a month and a half.Sora529

Your parent's are most likely happy with your 4 A's, however, the reason they are dissapointed in your D+, is because you obviously refuse to try to work in that 5th class. If you seem to have no problem keeping a straight A average in the rest of your classes, then you should have no problem raising that D+. Your parents know this, and this is the reason they are unhappy.

Those are pretty good grades you have...Don't worry if you got a D+ if you just moved to USA, I probably would've got the same mark as you if i did.;)

I just finished Canadian Civics, I'm sure an American moving to Canada wouldn't understand at first either.

The D+ isn't great, but isn't completely awful either. Other than that, good job!

If I got a D, my parents would be disappointed in me a bit, too, since I normally get A's B's, and an occasional C in my classes. Serves me right for doing so well in school, I guess. :roll:

Damn, those are great. In highschool, the only classes I'd get A's in were PE, Cooking, and Automotive. The rest of my grades were C's-F's.metallica_fan42

The classes you got A's in are the ones most useful in everyday life! So props for that!
