I just ordered a treadmill from sports authority and it gets here in 3 days. Right now i'm 17 and 180 pounds. How long will it take for me to lose about 10 pounds running on the tread mill for an hour everyday on an okay diet. anyone know?

I don't know how long it will take you, but I do know that running on a treadmill makes you look more attractive. It's proven. *nods head*

The treadmill is only 1/3 of the battle. It would also watch the calories you intake. start w/ just 3000 and gradually fall down to 2500. I never just eat 2000 calories to lose weight. Also make sure to walk on it for 45 minutes, 2 times a day if that's all you'll be doing. I'd recommend also doing some free weight training if your looking to tone up.

I don't know if treadmills will do everything for you in terms of weight, you also need to do other stuff like lowering the amount you eat each day.

I would recommend you weight train but whatever... :P You should use one of the programs that are usually programmed into the treadmill like "up-hill" or "cross-country"...

I used to be overwieght. What you need to do along with the treadmill is workout. If you dont have access to weights do 200 pushups and 200 situps a day. Do the pushups in sets of 20 and the situps in sets of 40. (if you cant do 20 pushups do them in sets of 10 and if you cant do 40 situps do them in sets of 20). You also need to drink A LOT of water. Drink about 1.5 Gallons of water a day. My advice for the water is just get 1 poland spring bottle and drink it, then refill it about 9 or 10 times and drink that. Dont eat junk food. This means candy, pizza, red meat, anything fried, fast food, ice cream, pop tarts, white bread ect.

This should help you some. Stay motivated. You need willpower to lose weight. You can do it though.I lost 40 pounds.

Im about 5"11, 6" and weigh about 195. I dont have a keg but I know ppl who have a keg and weigh 20-30 pounds less than me (I play football). But my advice is run 15-20 min every day and eat less. when I was trying to lose weight i would run for 40 minutes and after 2 weeks I Just gave up cuz it was too much work. I would just take it easy so you won't burn yourself out.
