Are women subjugated in your country?

As a westerner, we enjoy the mixing of the sexes. Men and women can freely walk down the street together, go to movies together, go to the beach together, go to school together. Women can go out in public with shorts and short sleeve shirts without being arrested, beaten or even stoned. But in some countries,just a simple thing like going out to eat on a date and holding hands as a couple will get you into serious trouble. Do any of you live in a country like that? If so, how do you feel about it? Do you agree that women should be covered and controlled. Do you believe in seperating the sexes in society?

No, we're not

I think women should be pretty much equal. They're not really subjugated here in England, but of course they're still not treated as complete equals.

In my area I think they're treated fairly equally

Not usually, but this is America. People of all beliefs are here, so some people still practice it.

There was a story in the news where a middle eastern guy of some religion murdered his three daughters because he believed they were "westernized" and wanted to do things like wear normal clothes and have boyfriends and ****.

So he shot them to death, and now he's in jail.

Women have the run of the place here in Australia.

The glass cieling has yet to be shattered here in america. Women have more basic freedom than ever before, but the stereotypes still persist and men still dominate many tech fields that women should also participate in.

no, and i think that it is retarded to try and force men and women apart.

nope, but i'm beginning to wish they were... they're asking for equal treatment constantly, even though it's the US so they have it already, yet they still keep things like ladies first, holding the door for them, the man paying for dinner, etc, it all reminds me of an episode of cops. this little old lady was swearing at a cop and hit him, he threatened to tase her, she hit him again and he tased her, then she acts like it shouldn't be allowed cause she's a nice little old lady.
