Well, suck it up, loser!

I ask because i do believe im becoming one... and i really dont want to be.

When i lose some sort of competitive game (I mean i dont really care if no one sees me), i tend to sulk about it, or make excuses that no one cares about because presumably they have won. I really dislike this new trait and am trying my best to correct it.

Mostly because i used to not be competitive at all... For instance i love videogames, and the only thing i prefer more than playing them is getting other people into them who normally wouldnt touch them. Recently i get all pouty even if someone i mentored beats me... and thats just lame.

Well, I hate losing, but generally can acknowledge it was because I was faced with someone more skillful than me. I don't tend to sulk or anything, but sometimes I'll exclaim "Damn!" or something in a close match. My bf, not generally a gamer, has blown by me in a couple of games that drew his interest, and while it makes me feel inadequate, it also sparks a certain pride in him.

Yeah...I'm a bit of a sore loser at times. I'm extremely competitive by nature and hate losing. I've been working at it and have gotten better and losing with grace, but perfecting the art is still on my "to do" list.

Yep. I'm even a sore competitor, too. Few people want to play video games with me because of how aggressive I become.

I was an incredibly sore loser right through my teens. Then I realized that I'd prefer not to be so nasty and petulant about things that didn't really matter, so I stopped. Being competitive is fine in a healthy dose, but take it too far, and, well, you won't be the sort of person most people want to know.

Yeah, I'm a pretty sore loser. It's not neccessarily because I'm competitive, but it's mostly because I don't like looking stupid and I don't like feeling inadequate.

I can claim that i almost never rage-quit though... I usually see my failures through, making a sullen fuss all the way till the bitter end. Actually MTG is a big part of discovering this side of me. At least im in better shape than one of my friends, who has put dice marks in the wall from Blightnings :P

I don't like losing or doing badly but I'll always try to put on a happy face about it. When I was a kid, if I wasn't winning a board game or something I'd claim to be bored and walk away. I suppose that's better than throwing a strop but it wasn't a nice trait to have.

It depends on how hard I worked... wakka wakka.

Actually, not really, no. I am not very competitive. I am much more interested in whether I can accomplish something I want to accomplish than I am if I can do it better and faster than someone else.

I am insanely competitive but never been a sore loser. If I lose I try to take it in stride and congratulate the victor, but then again I come from a neighborhood where I have seen guys lose and start gunfights at parks - I figured its never worth that..

Its for the best, you dont want to be caught in its clammy embrace of nerddom. Being spotted in the mall rifling through 10cent singles with your hood up to conserve your dignity... I actually have found that i take losses very personnally and after losing several games, i hit a funk of depression and get really down on myself. At that point i have to take a break and chill out. Its pretty sad.

Such an adorable pug pic. :3 And I'm pretty honourable in defeat, but that's mostly because I don't take a lot of competitive feats seriously. I have no problem with losing at something so long as the opposition has rightfully won.

NCAA Football, NBA 2K, and MLB The Show are all taken very seriously by me. I'm sure when the inevitable World Cup 2010 comes out, I'll be just as serious about that. I hate losing at sports games.

depends.

in arguments, ifI lose, no not really

but I hate losing in anything really competative like sports or cards and stuff. I dont act out on it, but I simmer deep inside until I get my revenge/victory.

of course, the only worse than a sore loser is poor winner

Im very conscious of this saying... When i win, i dont show much happiness, usually i feel Normal after a win, and Depressed after a loss. Ill let out a huge sigh of relief, and be much more willing to analyze the game with the other players... wheras if i lost i wont want to hear about it at all!

I can be at times. It also depends on how it went down. I mean, if I was just sucking it up, I'd probably be pissed off more at myself than at the guy who beat me, but if it's a well-fought fight, then I'll congratulate him.

Only if I lose in succession to a person I know is less skillful than me in the particular game we are playing, and he/she only wins due to sheer luck on his/her side. I am perfectly fine with losing to a person I know is better than me.
