Like different states?

that's one of the factors...yes. more are in play however. to make it more relevant...the recent shootings at Virginia Tech claim some responsibility since the laws in VA are somewhat lacking considering the ease of obtaining weapons. A person of noncitizenship was capable of not only purchasing more than one deadly weapon, but using them in the deadliest mass-shooting in American history. the laws should be again reconsidered in some aspects. i do still hold some respect for the second amendment however.
edit: and i didn't mention that in VA it's legal to carry a concealed weapon with the right papers.
not here (Canada).
The only legal weapon I know of in Canada is a hunting rifle and you'll need a permit to take that outside.
but if you manage to get yourself anything other than a hunting rifle, prepare to get your *** beat if you get caught.DJ-PRIME90
ahem.... a .357 round or a 30 odd 6 is much more lethal then a .22 cal from a pistol :(
a hunting rifle is pretty damn lethal considering its meant for big game like deer. :O
unless you have another point that your trying to get across that im missing :O
So any person can walk in and obtain a permit to carry a gun? Isnt there any restrictions?aus_pride
Anyone convicted of a felony cannot obtain a weapon and there is waiting period....most places.

and in many states like New York obtaining a gun license is next to challenging. the states are diversified. the US is a varied place indeed....yet we are so often stereotyped for inadequate reasons.

Hush....don't help him.:P
depends on where you live....NathanHawkinsusually you have to have a concealed weapons permit and as N.H has posted and some states have what is called an open carry law,but the weapon has to be visible to the public and there are still places where that is still not allowed like banks and police stations and any other government instition
