I don't trust this source, but it would surprise me. Republicans are almost obliged to vote for racists.hongkingkongWhat?
Oh snap. Now I'm not voting for McCain.

i didn't imply that this was a "this is why you must not vote for mccain!" thread! i cant vote either this year, but that means nothing. this thread is to discuss his anti-asian statement, if you think that means nothing then so be it.
First off, I dislike McCain and find racism disgusting. While I don't approve of his derogatory terms for Asians, I can't imagine being held captive for that long in those horrible conditions. If I was in the same shoes I can't say that I wouldn't have the same feelings towards Asians. On the other hand if I were Asian hell would freeze over before I would vote for McCain due to his racist views.
Also TC, you may want to adjust your thread title as "just" is a little misleading as he made the comment 8 years ago in 2000.

That was meant as a "well, I'm already not voting for McCain, so this means nothing."Well, if I could vote. I can't vote because I'm not an American citizen.

The time passed doesn't make his statement any less offensive...
Really?
Well, according to most laws, committing a crime twenty years ago is just as illegal as doing it today.
Obama openly admitted to using illegal drugs, including pot and cocaine in his younger days.
Now, I (along with most people) had totally dropped this, but since McCain can be complained about for something he said eight years ago under protection of Free Speech, then it interests me how Obama is not in jail for full-out admitting breaking the law when he was younger.
