Are you close-minded with music?

Yes, I know there are many music threads, it's just that I'm bored...

I used to be really close-minded with music. I only listened to music that was related to the Classic Rock-era. Now, it's quite different. I'm listening to classical the most, but I've been getting into Miles Davis, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, soul singers like Stevie Wonder, and a few other things as well.

I know it will be difficult for people to say "Yes", but I can admit I am close-minded with some things, such as Television. My sister recommends me programs to watch, but I just don't want to.

Also, to add to conversation, I still listen to Classic Rock along with Modern Rock. However, it's difficult for me to find modern Rock I enjoy (The Strokes have done the best for me), and a person can only listen to Classic Rock for so long. It's a genre that isn't producing new music (because it only applies to a certain time period), and it is a very short time period which it existed.

I listen to Rock, Rap, Jazz, some Classical... Hell, I even love Raffi.

So, no, I'm not. I am for books, however. I'm a VERY picky reader.

Nu Metal, Alt Metal, Rapcore, Rap, Alt Rock, electronica, Thrash Metal, Country, Pop, Pop-Punk

For those of you that don't like R&B at all could you listen to this and tell me if you dig it?

Its one of my favorite songs of all time. Also yes, I am pretty open minded, but I hate most Metal and Country.

If you mean because I can stand rap I'm close minded in music, maybe...

but if you ask me what I listen to... Almost all type of rock, electronic, classical, metal, japense pop, and some britain pop... I think i'm listening to more stuff that anyone who is pointing his finger at me for calling me a close minded individual.

I listen to a whole lot of different music, genre wise.

But I thinka lot of stuff really, really sucks.

Absolutely. But the close-minded developed from understanding, instead of the lack of understanding that forms its basis for the majority of close-minded listeners. Having devoted most of my life to music, it doesn't much surprise me that my tastes are very specific and difficult to satisfy.

I don't know.

Some things I just don't want to try, not because I think I won't like them or they are of a particular genre, but because I want to listen to a certain familiar song at the time.

I have a diverse taste in music, however I don't tend to listen to extremes of anything. For example, I hate heavy metal.

However I'm willing to give most things a try before I make my mind up about themm
