Are you? Most of my friends are suprised by my intelligence. Kind of funny, really.

I'm considered intelligent by my peers.
Of course, this is in a high school so it's nothing to brag about.
I'm considered intelligent in general. This is because I use common sense, which most people seem to lack. I am pretty street smart, good at observing and taking note, but I would not consider myself book smart. I can work on a car, cook (excellent) meals, pick up girls, continue an intelligent conversation, and I am often considered "deep." It's all relative.
This should give you and idea of the type of people I live around, they tell me I'm smart because I can hook a DVD player or console up to a TV. I get told that I'm smart a lot, I don't believe it though, some guys on the forums are FREAKING SMART! Though, I thought I was until I came here and read half of the things,I'm don't even try to be smart here sometimes, because I'm scared It'll just get shot down.
That's what I wanted to say, yeah in academics I'm pretty much a slacker, only when it comes to English am I somewhat good. But you'd be surprised how logically stupid most people are. In attention spans I have to be in the top 10% of this generation.I am an idiot in academics but compared to the general population, I'm probably above average in terms of common sense.

Hell, same here. I get 75% in English (at my old HS anyways, getting 90s there is IMPOSSIBLE unless you cheat lol) and fail at math.
But I'm way smarter than most people in terms of common sense. Who the hell spends their time discussing Starcraft strategies like every single second of their non-school life? Some people I met did.
In middle and high school, I was what you'd consider crazy smart - I got to take the SATs when I was 13! Now, I'm in college, though, where everyone's pretty darned smart, so it's a bit humbling.
No, not really. But my mom puts me on this stupid pedastal. And I guess compared to my siblings, I am a freakin genius.
Undoubtly you is very smart, you is.
I'm generally considered smart by those around me. When I started uni this year with a new class it wasn't long before I was affectionately considered the nerd of the group.
I have lost count of how many times I've been told I'm very intelligent since I was a kid. I still don't think it's such a big deal, really...
Wise enough to know that being intelligent does not simply equate to being smart. That, and I am wise enough to know that it is better to be underestimated than to be overestimated. Plus, an head concussion coupled with convulsions tends to humble/reduce the "I'm so smart!" mentality abit.
Yet by the notion of others, yes, they say I am smart. However almost every single time "smart" is used, "demented" is also said.
