I definitley am. Then again im a tech junkie that pretty much always buys the hottest tech that comes out, i will admit though i might wait until black friday to see what deals i can get, but yea. Ive decided that i will own a 3D TV by year end. I tested out the new panasonic TV at best buy the other day and i was very impressed, there was one scene where water looked like it hit me right in the 3D glasses! Like drops dripped down the glasses for a half a second, it was awesome.

And also after seeing Jimmy Falon's reaction on his show the other night after playing Killzone 3 in 3D, im totally convinced now about the technology. A lot of people complain about the 3D glasses, but seriously guys.. Its not a big deal, i sort of like the glasses actually. Makes you feel are futuristic and they are cool looking.

I just wish more Blu ray movies had 3D support. but with Gran Turismo 5, a slew of move games, a lot of downloadable games on PSN already having 3D and ofcourse Killzone 3 early next year, i think its more than worth it to early adopt a 3D TV.

The TV has nothing to do with it does it? I thought all you needed was 3d glasses and a 3d program.

No. People are just now making the jump to HD. They're rushing 3D TVs too soon.

Any TV can display 3d. The difference is 3dtv can convert regular signal into 3d (I think).

HDTVs have been out for nearly a decade, i dont think they are rushing 3D TV at all.. Keep in mind 3D TVs are also HDTVs, so if someone is going to upgrade HD and drop 2 grand on a new TV, ,might as well get a 3D Tv right? People act as though 3D TVs are several thousands bucks and they arent expensive at all.. I can get a 42 inch Sony bravia 3D TV at best buy for $1700.00 right now.

Yes any TV can. Any HDTV can display GOOD (well as good as lame 3d gets) 3d. 3D TV's a a complete waste of money. Especially since the fad will be dead soon anway.

That doesn't mean much. A lot of people have been jumping onto the HD bandwagon over the past few years. They've been switching from SD TVs to HD TVs.

3D TVs are much more expensive than you're making them out to me. The glasses alone are expensive.

I dont get why a lot of people have so much animosity everytime a new technology comes out. When the Iphone came out all the naysayers and "haters" made fun of all the people buying the Iphones saying stuff like "my motorola flip phone works just fine" people just dont like change. To you naywaysers every new tech that comes out you just dismiss it as a "fad"

I enjoy 3D a lot, and all of you that are saying you wont buy a 3D TV, have any of you ever really tried out a 3D TV? How do you know if you tried 3D gaming you wouldnt like it? I think 3D has ton of potential and im impressed by the tech

Since when has 3d been new? It's been around for like 30 something years in it's current form. I don't have animosity towards new tech. Hell, I'm usually an immediate adopter. 3D just sucks ass.

Lets get serious. the previous attempts at 3D have been a joke up until now, you cant even compare the 3D from the past because it was those cheesy red and blue glasses.. This 3D out now is the real deal and looks great

The Iphone is one of the greatest inventions in history.. they pioneered the touch screen era in cell phones, infact every touch screen cell phone that has been released since the Iphone have a been a joke and nowhere near as good as the Iphone.. the only one that ALMOST comes close is the Evo, but still the Iphone 4 is much better.

3d Has been the real deal and no it doesn't look great. It looks like total crap compared to quality HD picture. The headaches it gives most people with prolonged use doesn't help its cause either.

I had a linux phone years before the iPhone came out that had 3D graphics, stereo speakers, played flawless video, browsed the web, and did everything the iPhone did plus had a removeable battery. The removable battery was the real innovation.

The thing is about 3D gaming on the PS3 alot of games are gona run in extremely low resolutions 640x720 at relatively low framerates to keep the game running. Not worth IMO

AND TO THE PEOPLE SAYING YOU DON'T

YOU DO NEED A 3DTV TO DISPLAY A 3D IMAGE A NORMAL TVS "3D" IS JUST A CHEAP RED/BLUE TRICK

I'll get a 3D TV when I no longer need to wear those glasses.

Nope, I''m happy with my 52" HDTV. I also don't want to have to wear glasses, so I think gaming is fine the way it is, without 3D

The tech actually already exists. I think Phillips makes it.

[QUOTE="clyde46"][QUOTE="Pirate700"]Any TV can display 3d. The difference is 3dtv can convert regular signal into 3d (I think).

Not any TV can display 3D, well good 3D that is.

Yes any TV can. Any HDTV can display GOOD (well as good as lame 3d gets) 3d. 3D TV's a a complete waste of money. Especially since the fad will be dead soon anway.

I don't think so. There a few different types of 3D method. I think it requires a special TV that has enough Hz and can accept the signal through HDMI. Not completely sure on how it works for TVs but for computer monitor you need at least 120Hz and the standard is only 60.

120 Hz is the recommendation to reduce eye strain (because the 120hz displays can display 60hz in each eye during alternative frames).

Nope. From Wikipedia (I know it's not 100% reliable, but w.e.) "support HDMI 1.4 and a minimum (input and output) refresh rate of 120 Hz;"
