3D tv are crap. One of my friends who works at a store that sells em says the picture only comes like half an inch off the screen, not gonna waste money on that. I'll be content getting a lower end HDTV so I can actually see everything on screen though. I hate not being able to read news tickers or see how much ammo I have left when I play games. >_>

Sorry, can't hear you over the awesomeness of the 3DS. No 3D TV for me, I don't even have an HD TV :/

I don't see the appeal. It doesn't seem like a step forward to me.

Movie theatre pictures are fairly grainy.

HD is closer to the theatrical release than SD is. Picture quality: Movie Theater > HD > SD

Maybe Imax. Deffinetly not any theatre I have ever been to. HD also has the grainy sort of look and the black blotches and scratches that appear?

The blotches and scratches are a product of the projection, not of the movie itself. Most movies I go to are quite good with that. And, if you see a movie closer to its release, then it hasn't had many plays, and should have less dust and hair on it. The black spot you are talking about is to tell the projectionist that it is time to change the reels, and you won't see those anymore as more and more theaters go to digital projection. The movie theater quality is not compressed from the original filming. DVDs and VHS are compressed quite a bit. HD is compressed less, so you are getting closer to the original format of the film, as the director intended.

No, I'm not getting one ever.

Me neither, HD is as good as it gets.. 3D is a cheap cinema gimmick, not something that belongs at home..

I probably won't, I'm not a big fan of 3D.

Don't know about years end, but definitly sometime next year when they go down in price and become more mainstream.

A lot of people say they won't buy one ever, but many people also said they would never buy a HDTV when they first came out.

3D is finally here to stay.

not unless my current TV breaks and the glasses are gone. if the glasses are still there then i think ill just opt for a bigger telly instead. the 3DS and cinema will provide my 3D fix for the next few years i think.
