My school is giving out free shots, but I feel it is unnecessary. I think this whole thing is blown out of proportion. What are your thoughts?
edit:
If you've had the H1N1 then pick Yes since you're immune.

Nope. Don't see the reason for it since I'm able to get the real news about H1N1 from the staff at the hospital my dad works at.
The same as the regular flu vaccine... resistance to the flus your vaccinated against and after 10 years of them a greater resistance to the flu in general. Not exactly true because if it was, the H1N1 and Flu vaccination would be exactly the same thing. I didn't realize it either until I met a university research professor who is doing nothing but H1N1 research right now. It is similar but still a new vaccine that hasn't had long term testing completed.[QUOTE="Thetaguru"]
I'm not because no one has any idea what the long term side effects might be.

My father works as an accountant type job at a hospital, so my parents dragged to get a vaccine because it was free. Turns out because I DID get the vaccine, I couldn't give blood that following week (which if I had, it would've meant I would've got a free pint of ice cream, Pint of a Pint as an Ice Cream Shop does around here), so I was very upset.

It is the same thing, just with a different inert virus ;) In fact had they caught it a few months earlier they would have just included it in the seasonal vaccine.[QUOTE="duxup"]

nope not getting one, never get regular flu shot either, barley even get the flu maybe twice or3 times in 20 years.
the flu "vaccine" isnt really a vaccine its a preventiatve measure that exposes you to the virus to help lessesn the length and severity of the flu if you happen to get it. hence why they give them out every year instead of once in a lifetime like other vaccines.
No, I don't intend on getting a H1N1 flu shot. Why? Because I'm not afraid of the big bad flu.:P I think it's exaggerated, and I never worry about it. It must suck to be a hypochondriac.
If i get offered it i take it if its in a plenty full supply. But they are a greater amount of people that need it more than me.
I got it a while ago due to our new baby. That is one more flu I'm resistant to. Fine by me.duxup
Congratulations.
I was supposed to get it for the same reason but I ended up picking it up from someone in the office anyway. It wasn't anything to write home about, but I could see how it could be lethal to the young and old.
No, don't intend to. This video made me think about my decision. I don't take this as gospel, but she raises some things to think about.
She is a government minister from Finlad I believe: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nTgyakGAddM
No I didnt and I wont.
I hear all sorts of rumours about serious side-effects and also I dont think its so imperative that I get one.

The nurse at the school my mum work in says the drugs when you have swine flu they give you makes you hallucinate. But its a special needs school.

Well the stories I have heard were about how the vaccine can affect the nervous system.I even saw a video of a woman that couldnt walk normally after getting the shot. Not sure about details though.
Well of course I am not saying that everyone or even the majority ends up somehow affected by the shot.I'm perfectly fine and I got the shot about a week ago.

Its just many things combined....
etc
:P
I've never gotten a flu shot. I have the money to keep myself healthy and stuff for my Immune system.
