Been watching some of the Olympic 'try-outs' I guess you could say, I don't know what the official name for these games are and am curious which is more prevelant:
a marathon runner or a sprinter?
Myself, I am totally NOT built for marathon running. My thighs are gigantic and I simply can't run far because of my body type/shape. But, I was one of the fastest sprinters in school because of my powerful legs. Take a look at marathon runners and you'll notice how skinny they are, obviously. You can't be a heavy marathon runner.
So, all of you long distance runners, I do envy your ability to run, basically, forever. However, sprinters are better because we are the ones all you long-distance runners are running from
10,000 years ago, I mean, you guys would be running away from us, the sprinters. If you could beat us for a short distance, then you ''live''. However, well, if we catch you, then whatever happens, happens.
I think this is a good argument, but I want to consult with OT for some reassurance or 'rejection' lol.
Are you a sprinter or a long distance runner? Both are good and both are equally as hard to be proficient at, but as I have learned a lot has to do with your body type/weight/how prone you are to gain or lose weight. I don't think you can really choose to be either one, unless you are a lucky son of a gun ;) And when I mean choose to be either one I mean choose one that you will be better than everyone else at.
