I am. Even if I am extremely angry I go out of my way to be nice to strangers. It is not their fault my life sucks... when it sucks that it is. It doesn't always suck.

Yes.

the other day this lady who was walking in front of me, dropped a pie crust thingy. without hesitation i bent down and picked it up for her. she thanked me and i was on my way.
As often as i can but i fail sometimes too. My ideaology is that if i am nice to someone, it could go a long way to help improve or brighten their day :D
On the internet, no. I'm actually a dick by default.
In the real world, absolutely. I'm probably kind to a fault. I treat everyone with respect and even when I'm put in situations where I should be raging I still show as much kindness as I can. If someone approaches me at a gas station saying they're hungry and asking for money, even if they look like a crack head, I'll go by them a meal from the closest restaurant if I have the time. If not, I'll spare them a couple of bucks. I'm the kind of guy that leaves at least a 5 dollar tip MINIMUM no matter how poor the service may be.
I'm not a pushover and I'm no sucker either. I just like being good to others. And it really does come back around.
Well always but yesterday was a textbook example of why maybe I should be a little more ... I dunno cold? I was in the city walking at a fairly slow pace and some guy bumped heavily into the right side of my chest. I still said sorry just out of courtesy and I was expecting him to apologize also but he just ignored me .... or maybe he did it on purpose. Maybe he's just racist but in hindsight obviously I wouldn't have been the nice guy if I knew he'd be so cold himself.
Depends. If I'm not in a good mood I don't feign politeness simply for the sake of pleasantness. I guess I'd rather be a genuine ass than a phony pretender. That said I'm not a prick I'm just not necessarily friendly, and am cordial unless I feel otherwise.

I know the feeling. One time I was at a bar and it was getting late so of course everyone was wasted. I saw this guy unknowingly drop a bill and when I picked it up it was $100. I'm sure anyone else in the bar would have kept it, but I was kind enough to go hand it to him. He didn't thank me, he didn't even say anything, just gave me a really sh*tty look. I instantly regretted being so honest knowing I could have made a hundred dollars at the expense of a total jerk off.
While I try to be polite to strangers, picking things up for them is one thing I generally don't do. They don't know me, so for all they know I might be trying to take their stuff. If someone spills lots of stuff (like if they accidentally empty their backpack or purse) then I'll ask if they need help. Or if I see someone drop something and they don't notice, I'll say "hey, you dropped that." But I pretty much never just pick their stuff up for them without them saying it's okay.Yes.

But then you wouldn't have known that he'd be a total jerkoff, and you would have felt bad about taking some nice guy's money. In any case, I think that's why it's good to keep in mind WHY I try to be polite. You can do it in order to get something from someone else, or you can do it because it's rewarding to know that you're not a jackass.Yes.
