pretty much this. once you're a generation or two in, your blood is usually so diluted with other ethnicities and budweiser that it really only makes sense to call yourself american.Really don't think about it. It may sound corny, but I honestly just see myself as American.

I think we're enough generations into the US' life that it's about time it be considered an ethnicity.Really don't think about it. It may sound corny, but I honestly just see myself as American.

Heck yeah. The history of mine is filled with examples of conquering, enslaving, and just otherwise reigning supreme over the lesser ones. Totally alpha.
I like to imagine proud people with their elbows straight out talking long steps.KiIIyouWhat the what?

That's cultural, not genetic.

Well technically everything had to be a new ethnicity at one time. Europeans didn't magically appear in Europe. Agreed.[QUOTE="Pirate700"]

ethnicity is cultural / religious. not really genetic.. for example a palistinian and an israeli can be very similar genetically and would probably say they're a little different ethnicially.....[QUOTE="Storm_Marine"]

Actually it is the case here. American becoming an ethnicity is NO different than how any other nation became an ethnicity.[QUOTE="Storm_Marine"]

Damnit, I should know better.

No, my family is originally from Spain. My family is the reason slavery, religion and genocide exist >.>FightingfanThey've been pretty active. Maybe not the best outcomes, but you have to give them an A for effort.
I don't think pride should come into the question when it's over something that hasn't been accomplished or earned. I don't think people should be proud of being a male, being black, being blue-eyed or having ginger hair.
I think pride should come with things like diplomas, job placements or a successful relationship.
However I will comment that I think I could identify with the sub-culture I follow (Hip Hop) more if I was black. I'm white. I don't let this get to me or at all bother me.

I'm proud of my overall sexiness, even though I merely inherited teh sexy gene

U just jealous of the sexy green eyes we're talking about in Unreal's thread.
