i know this question is very offensive but really do you see your selfe fit in that category ?

lets say do you chose your freinds based on their color or religion well iam not sure about religion but you know what i meen...

Humans cant be objective, eventhough most of us will say that they are, we will always be objective, so my answer is:

I try not to be a racist.

Absolutely not.

In fact, the very concept of "race" itself is a fallacious and outdated myth. There is not one single genetic trait that, say, all "black" people have and that only "black" people have, and yes, that includes skin color. Also, you will find more genetic diversity among different people within a certain "race" than between different "races" themselves.

What we understand as "race", then, is nothing more than our own subjective observation of insignificant physical appearances, and has no basis in biological fact. This makes the practice of judging someone's many other, less visible characteristics for the sake of their skin color, eye shape, hair texture, etc. all-the-more archaic and ridiculous.

I feel the same way. I try and be as fair and open-minded as possible. Ironically, this can sometimes be completely counter-productive.

I'm not sure. I think some races are less fortunate but I don't hold themtobe infererior to me...I don't like how some people get treated because of their race. Like how the aboriginals of my country get into uni on a lower entrance score. That, I think is racst.Dotheythinktheycan'tbeassmartaswhitepeople? I understand that it is suppose to encourage more to go to Uni but still it's unfair for other races so we can't all really help but feel...negatively towards them but it's just how it is and you can't hate an entire race of people because of that. It wasn't their idea so I try not to dwell on it but there are some Sudanese girls in my school who get their homework/assignments/exams done for them and think they are doing well and will get into uni. Well...come Uni time when they can't have all that done for them how will they feel? My objections are mostly with how they are treated/ money they get and not on actual traits of the people so I don't think I am. People think im not being fair when I say they shouldn't get these things but really I just don't understand how it does them good.

Concerning religion. Yes I am a little.:P

Hmm, we had a discussion about this in my sociology class. Many questions were raised, questions like: if all races are equal, why is there a dominant one?

Judging others is not the same as racism. Then again...not everyone "judges" others. You may notice things about them and infer their likes.....or their culture...but that is not racism either.

And no...not everyone is racist.

When I was in the military I had friends of all different sexual orientations, nationalities, ethnic backgrounds, etc and they were some of the best people I have ever known. But one thing we all liked to do was rip on each other with the most offensive, racist, and god awful shocking jokes possible and everyone would laugh. Those who were gay would laugh at gay jokes, blacks would laugh at black jokes, etc. Granted it was VERY rare and majority of the places and people in the military and anywhere would NOT tolerate it but it felt so great to be able to forget about all these "racial indifference's" and "special treatment" and just have fun. No one ever got offended and well all made it very clear that if someone started to take something to far by all means let us know and we would stop, no hard feelings. Good times ;)

But because of that, I find myself making a lot racist jokes here and there but it's all out of fun. Never do I take any of the jokes seriously nor do I believe that they actually do reflect one's culture, race, etc. I accept and judge people based on the type of person they are and I do fall under ONE "category" for racism......IGNORANCE!!!

I hate ignorant people! Now I'm not saying I hate stupid people, since I have plenty of friends who are as dumb as a rock but I love them to death. I just hate self centered stuck up spoiled ignorants, whatever their race, culture, etc may be.
