Are you shy when you're in an voice chat?

I'm just shy in person.

when i'm on xbox live i have no problem talking. even if my team isn't saying anything i'll still talk :P try to help them out a little, ya know?

I'm only shy when I have to talk about something serious like, in a private chat.Whenever I pick up the phone, I joke around.

I don't talk much on Xbox Live, mainly because I don't have much to say :P

When I do talk I either encourage my team or tell them (If we win) that they did a good job. In MW2, I comment on Noobtubers, Commando, and Danger close. I just say "Wow, Put down the noobtube" or something like that. :)

I found it very strange first time on the old Xbox but got used to it after a couple more times.

I haven't been in a voice chat for a while. But back when I was playing WoW I was constantly logged onto Teamspeak to chat with my guildies.

I'm not shy but I try to limit it or I stay quiet unless I am with friends to avoid the "OMFG R U A GURL?" stupidity that seems prevalent. Thank god for vent.Sajedene

Um, I've played TF2 with the same group of people for the last year and I'm too shy to use my mic, but I have recently, only a few times, used it in the Steam chat conversation with ONE of them. We were both too shy to use it in public so decided to just talk to each other. Coincidently, she's a... she. Lol. I find it a bit awkward especially seeing as her and I play together so much that we learned to communicate using in-game commands and gestures. Using mic is pretty weird and awkward for me.

Nope. Play much xbox and I don't talk to anybody unless they talk to me.

I usually don't speak much when gaming with people I don't know, more so out of not thinking of much to contribute to the conversation than out of shyness. When gaming with friends I or talking on the phone I speak more, but still not for long periods of time. When speaking to people I just prefer to do it in person.

I'm not shy. But I do tend to avoid letting others know I have a mic, if I realize my teammates using mics are useless.

I'm completely opposite.

When I used to use XBL, not that shy but then I didnt play much with randoms. But I hardly use my mic when playing PC games. Hell I use my pc for Folding now more than games.

Yeah, even more than if I were speaking with someone face to face, even with people I know well in RL. Online voice chat/phone chat is just awkward for me for some reason.

I just wish everyone on psn wasnt french, my french is very basic so they are hard to understand :P

Using Vent if a group of "strangers" it takes a while to get use to talking to a new group, but if you see them often enough you eventually just go forward. I mean, it's not if I'm the only outsider in the group.

If we're talking about a random group on 360, where I'll probably never meet them again - then I often just say what I would normally, since it really doesn't matter as I'll never see/hear them again.

I avoid talking to strangers with voice as much as I can really. Not only because I don't like the sound of my voice/shyness; but also the avoid any comments on my nationality, which are always going to be negative. Halo 2 taught me this well many years ago. I can't really counter the arguments either because I don't really believe in national adversarial-ship; if that makes sense.
