Oftentimes, people feel guilty or awkward when confronted with telling others what they want, particularly those in relationships (both professional and personal). There are times when something, "comes out wrong" (usually because someone feels ambivalent about a particular situation or person). I am one of these people.

For example, at this moment, I want the women of OT to play with my hair and feed me marshmallows; how do I go about getting what I want? I feel weird just putting it out there.

Let's say you're with a group of people who just happen to be wondering where you all should go to eat. Are you more likely to say the restaurant/food joint of your choice or something along the lines of, "whatever, it doesn't matter?"

Speaking up is an important step in having your voice and desires heard; what you want is as valid as what anyone else wants, so why not express it?

Never tried White Russian anything, I gave up on liquor. Beer, and some fine wines are the only alcohol I can tolerate.

Yeah I'm generally up front with just enough tact to avoid any problems. But I really don't communicate my desires much, I just get to making it happen.
